May I ask why are you getting another one?

well my old one is currently in my living room. my other will defintely be set up downstairs.

I sold my 80gb and bought a Slim. I have been enjoying it quite a bit.

There is one difference for me between the two that made my purchase worth it. I don't know if anyone else has noticed this, but the Wi-Fi is better for the Slim.

My room is very far from my router, so when I had my 80gb I had to use a lan cord. I don't have to do that now that I have the Slim.

I haven't had any problems with it as well, like some have said it gets very hot sometimes but that's just because of the unique way it cools itself.

It has only frozen once, and that was when I was playing Uncharted 2, which I've heard is a normal occurrence so I wouldn't worry about it haha.

Yeah I'm worried about overheating

No one I've heard of has had their Slim shut off or become damaged from overheating, so don't worry about it.

Sony wouldn't make the Slim incompetent at cooling itself.

Well I have to 40 gig model and bought the Slim in September. All I can say I love the slim. Its a great piece of
hardware. Especially I really love the sync funtion with my bravia lcd. Although it can get very hot on the back I have never
had some problems with it. Its also more resistant to dust than the older models. All I can say is - go and get it

Got one for my girlfriend. Runs quieter than my 60 gb. Looks a lot cleaner because of the new finish (mine gets fingerprints all over it and always shows dust). Also gets less dust inside it IMO. Seems to run faster than mine too.

The slim from what I can say is a fairly large improvement. Like the fan and the wi-fi. I would say go for it.

It's so quiet that you can't hear the system at all. It's nice.
