Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So... is NSMB Wii could actually sell to casuals?

Anyway i think there should be a thread for this because lets admit it, even NSMB Wii as everyone here thinks is a "core game" we knew its intended for the new audience. With the hype sorrounding this game I wonder what casuals impression on this?

end of core gaming days prediction:

E3 2006-The beginning of the end. Wii introduced

E3 2008- Armageddon. Wii motion plus introduced. Wii Music. Reggie says Animal crossing was a core game. Massive disappointment. many Wii core gamers selling their Wii.

Only issue I see is casuals mistaking the Wii game being the DS game ported. But probably not seeing as how there's 4p and yoshis and all on the boxart.

from the video I saw, the game might be pretty easy (easy game to beat, hard if you want to be a perfectionist). and heck, maybe it will even feature the self-play feature Nintendo announced a few months back.

if so, yes, it will sell to casual, along with its Mario characters.

Look at Mario kart wii, I think both cora and casual went for that, so I could see casuals going for New Super Mario bros Wii.

Buying in 2015: Captain toad: treasure tracker,

mario maker

new 3ds

yoshi woolly world

zelda U

majora's mask 3d

off course. It's a bridge title.

Seems bad to me, Ninty wants this game to sold as like NSMB on the DS. And for that to happen this game should be sell most for casual gamers NOT CORE.

8 million isnt enough for this game this game should surpass the Ds version

o_O

People buy games to have fun. The majority of the people play both "Hardcore" AND "Casual" games, as you call it. I think everyone will play it. Tired of hearing those 2 words. But we never hear anything about a "True" Gamer.

And no, I don't think my mom or grandparents will play this game. Since I think that's what you mean by casual.

Most "casual" gamers dont have good reflexes so they shouldn't be playing platforming games like this. If they put it on Auto-Pilot, I think they would play games like bejewled or something or Halo 3 on super easy(just shoot stuff. PUSH RT and you win) or Guitar Hero on beginner mode(press w/e). But I think it's a good idea for people who never played a platforming game more into it to show how to play.

Im discussing the future of 2-d marios here, if this game's sales isnt what Nintendo expected then we never seen a 2-d mario game in home consoles again

It's like Mario Kart Wii - it'll sell to casual more than core.

Stop saying casuals!
