Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The vgchartz ranking game--The Legend of Zelda: Twilight Princes!

9.6

Gameplay were fantastic. The only con I have is that the waggle sword attacks didn't add much, but the pointer controls and fishing makes up for it.
I liked the wolf part of the game, and Midna is one of my favourite side kicks ever.

TP would be a 10.0 if it weren't for one thing. To many times I got the feeling I've already been there, done that etc. For the next Zelda I hope they take more risks and make it more original.

10.

I'd give it much, much lower, but I'm only giving it a 10 to counter Infinity's trolling. If you don't count his rating, then don't count mine as well.

+I really dont see how anybody could have a problem with the controls, i found them to really work well (running and slashing for the first time in a zelda game).
+The story is epic, and totally enthralling in the best parts.

-I do admit there were some bland, somewhat boring, and even uninspired moments in the game, but these were easily outshined and outnumbered by the games better parts

Excellent game, motion controls are great, but the game only left me wanting a Zelda built from the ground up for Wii more.

but why this game isn't in top 12 vgchartz (strange...)

Because rating is not done yet.

And your gonna have to go into much greater detail as to why you rated it a 10

@Infinity--same with you, I want more reasons than just the measly 2 you gave. at least try to justify your score.

First of all, totally unimpressed with the graphics. I know this is a Wii game so the graphics might be judged with a handicap, but I think that you still have to compare this relative to the other games on other platforms this gen. Also the color scheme, from what I have played, looked dull relative to previous entries in the series (not sure if this is intentional to give Link a darker ambience). Second of all, the controls are so awkward and unresponsive that I find the game throughally unenjoyable to play. Partly this is due to the Wiimote/sensor bar controls in general, and partly due to its implementation in this particular game. For example, compare playing archery in TP with how it feels in Wii Sports Resort. Wii Sports Resort feels very natural, wheras I kept getting glitches and stutters using the bow in TP. I do not care for the strafing while aiming mechanic either. Obviously these complaints only apply to the Wii version of the game because we are not judging last generation games in this ranking game.

By the way there are many people who post "10/10" with no explanation why this is one of the best games of all time.

This was the first Zelda since OOT that bI completed, MM felt weird, thou I may go and get it from the virtual console and see if I can enjoy it, and WW got boring with all of the damn sailing. I liked playing as the wolf and Midna was really cool, I hope she comes back for the next Zelda. Gameplay was largely unchanged from OOT, a good thing for the most part. vI beat the game in a little under 30 hours, that seems about right but it seemed to drag on a bit.

Unique boss battles, unique items, many hours to be had, good story, some decent motion controls, and a WOLF

Boss battles were a bit easy, waggle sucks, didn't really separate itself from other Zeldas, some long quests go fairly unrewarded (POES), many areas were a whole lot of nothing.

zelda Twilight Princess was the first wii game I played apart from wii sports, and I wasn't dissapointed. I had only played one Zelda title before this, so the 'lack of freshness' didn't apply to me.

I loved the games huge length. (easily 60 hours) The length gave a lot of value to the title and it was easily worht the 40 quid I payed for it. The story was good and not too central in the game so the execellent gameplay can shine. I loved the massive world and exploring new areas, and backtracking with new items to find secret caves and trying to get 20 hearts.

The temples were fun with a lot of challenging puzzles and epic, if easy, boss fights. Trying out new weapons and using the classic Now I can do that bit! mechanic didn't feel old for me, because I never got to play old Zelda's.

The game has good replay value, and also has quite a lot of secrets and sidequests and minigames and collection and well... It's just huge.

I did find some bad things about the game. Enemies are just too easy and I found I barley ever got to use the cool moves I learnt. The boss fights are way to easy. The midi music would have sounded amazing with a full orchestra and I'm pissed at Nintendo for not adding this.

But these are just niggles. I found the game a true masterpiece and it broke me in for the other epic Nintendo games on the Wii!

Superp game: 9.6/10

Edit: did I put enough detail for my vote to be counted? I could lengthen it.

I blame Wii Fit...+!!!
