man, i purposely put the psp at higher levels because I thought it would pick up and prove everyone wrong. Guess I was wrong. What's wrong PSP?

I thought similar things but for different reasons.  Handhelds are generally more mainstream than that of consoles (lower price as well) and thus are able to pick up bigger increases during such times.  So I figured PSP, would at least similarly be able to do something comparable to what it did last year especially with the abundance of bundles and new PSP Go.

Problem was 3 things.  One, unsuccessful new released software and especially in the bundles didn't tempt many.  Second, a failed marketing campaign (if it existed) for that of the PSP Go.  And the third and big reason, DS simply left no room for another competitor.  It did over a million in that week and really PSP got over shadowed by it.

Well, that WAS my reasoning and I thought everyone was wrong about it because no matter who I talked to, they were like "the pspgo is a failure and is going to drop yoy".

I thought to myself, "this can't be true (insert similar reasons to those you mentioned), those people must be wrong"

Maybe a bit of fanboyism got in the way there. But then again, my DS numbers are extremely high too, so there's no bias....I guess I just thought pspgo would pick up sales but it didn't. (Hopefully pspgo is somehow not being listed in the psp sales, *crosses fingers*)

I agree with the PSP sentiment

how can ONE re-design go so well but the other so god awfully wrong?

I mean PSP GO sold 3.5K in freakin Japan last week!

All hail the KING, Andrespetmonkey

Also, next week is going to be disturbing.
I have almost the lowest number of ps3 sales. What I expected was that sales would be so high that there would be a shortage over this coming week.
Hopefully that pans out, and hopefully it doesn't... na'mean?

Absolutely loved this week's results, two ZERO's XD awesome, I'm on top for 360

Alright number 1 in consoles! I originally only planned to do the three consoles, but then they made me throw in PSP and DS really quick so thats where all my error is coming from =/.

Another graph for you all:

This is the weeks so far in 2009 (solid lines) versus what happened last year (dashed lines).

hmmm, tis a little difficult to see it... but I can't be bothered to change it so

The colours are the types I usually pick for the consoles, so Wii in blue, PS3 in Red, 360 in green, DS in purple and PSP in a purply-reddy-grey-ness

Wow it almost seems like PS3 and 360 have traded places year over year.  PSP stays a constant number below last year while same for Wii.  DS has just been jumpy though haha which makes me wonder if some of the early tracking is a little off by this site.  But it seems this holiday season may be just as strong.

WOWW finally I was in the top 5 weekly.

and first in PSP totals!, GO is almost dead and it improve my ranking :).

If Wii has a nice week and PS3 drop a lot (I have one of the lowest numbers), next week could be mine.
