Hardware Sales, 11th Oct 2009 - Current PS3 sales: 25.26M Current x360 sales: 32.51M

Minimal PS3/360 gap is: PS3 = 25.25M + 6.25M = 31.5M vs 35M = 32.5M + 2.5M for x360.

Maximal PS3/360 gap is: PS3 = 25.25M + 5.25M = 30.5M vs 36M = 32.5M + 3.5M for x360.

In 2008 main x360 model x360 pro got 299$ price, while PS3 moved from 40B to 80GB model at same price.

In 2009 main PS3 model got 299$ price + slim, while x360 moved from 60GB to 120GB model at same price.

Also, in 2008 x360 was 3 years on the market, while now in 2009 it`s already 4 years. PS3 only 3 years on the market.

In Germany during August-September PS3 ousold x360 by 1:4, and that is not the strongest PS3 region.

PS3 would have to outsell the 360 by a lot more than it is right now to get down to only 5.5 million

You have a very low upper limit for XBOX360... i think it can do around 5 Million too.. although i expect it to do around 4M +/- 250k...

The PSP Go might actually be selling alot this winter, which could steal sales from the PS3 due to the similar pricepoint. For some odd reason people want to buy a PSP Go because they're cheap and don't want to spend 50$ more on a PS3.

I took 3.5M and 5.3M, because that is how much PS3/360 sold last year. And this year, they`ve changed their places. I mean, PS3 got pricecut and x360 got additional 60GB. But why x360 sales would go up(over PS3`s last year sales) without pricecut and on 4th year, is beyond me.
Maybe you know something, what i don`t?

So you are saying that total HD(PS3+X360) console sales will be equal to last year total HD console(PS3 + X360) sales??

I think XBOX360 is still the cheapest entry into the HD consoles at $199... secondly MS has a very strong fanbase n advertisement in US, so i m not expecting XBOX360 sales going to go much below than last yrs.. There r definitely going to be bundles also... Just like in Japan even when PS3 didn;t have any software and XBOX360 was getting all the exclusives, it didn;t fall to 2 - 3k level for much... So similarly in US XBOX cannot go to such low numbers.

Secondly i believe that total HD consoles (PS3 + X360) sales will be higher than last yr and they might eat a little into Wii sales ... and moreover 4th yr could still be the peak yr for XBOX360...
