I think I just changed my mind but I'm gonna say PS1. Suikoden 1 and Suikoden 2 being the reasons.

That's ok then, I have no quarrel if the PS3 wins. Each of the Sony consoles is unique in it's own fashion, I just think that the PS1 held the best games of all the three, and it seems more people do so as well ;)

OT: PS1 for me I think, but its a tough call between that and PS3. But PS1 started a lot of game franchises and I really enjoyed the games that came out on it (although it has aged horribly). Let's see, franchises that started on PS1:

Resident Evil
Silent Hill
Tomb Raider
Metal Gear Solid (I know, Metal Gear was on NES, but this was the first 3D game)
Gran Turismo
TOCA (Now Race Driver/GRID)
Tekken

Not to mention the Final Fantasy games it had, or the fact that it introduced me to JRPGs.

I loved my PS when i was using it the most. same applied to the PS2 and now the PS3. but for games at the time the PS2 was a revelation, GTA3!! come on!

PS1.. because it was something really new, i mean - dude, 3D gaming!
some of the best games first parts were born on it..and you can play them even today, i just finished Koudelka :)
