Forums - Sony Discussion - My brother's first foray into Playstation world.

So I've told you guys before about my brother's family enjoying LittleBigPlanet so much on my PS3. They loved it so much that the next day, he asked me to accompany him to buy a PS3 for their use. He asked me what other games he should get, not knowing anything about Playstation exclusives, and having the sports games he loves on his 360 already. We ended up buying:

1.) Gran Turismo 5 Prologue - liked
2.) Killzone 2 - loved
3.) Metal Gear Solid 4 - hated, hardly played
4.) LittleBigPlanet (of course) - loved from the beginning
5.) Fight Night Round 4 - loved (not an exclusive, but he likes boxing)

I somewhat expected already that he would hate MGS4. He said it was boring, he didn't understand what was going on, and that there were too many cutscenes. In the end, he had it returned after playing it for about an hour. I guess the truth really is that MGS4 isn't welcoming for new people who haven't played the previous Metal Gears.

A few days later, he asked me to find someone willing to buy his 360. I got someone today to buy it for $100, including all of his games (he has about 15), cheap since the thing has suffered RROD so many times already and it's a launch 360. One thing about him is he never played on Xbox Live coz he refuses to pay. Nowadays, playing online via PSN is everything he does (he's getting pretty high on the online middleweight championship in FNR4). The family really appreciates the thing being able to browse the internet too.

All in all, they're pretty thankful towards me, coz to be honest their family relationship has been rather rocky as of late, and they hadn't been spending any quality time with each other. Anyway, I just wanted to post this because for the first time in years, I saw them so happy together because of a game system (especially LBP).

I'll admit it; I didn't  like MGS4 either. Never played any of the MGS before so maybe that was why.

This.  If you want to show a game that blows him away and re-affirms that he did the right thing switching to PS3, show him Uncharted 2.

He's seen me play Uncharted, and said it looked boring. He's not much into the single player experience. He bought 6 controllers already (he had 6 controllers for the 360 too) even though there are only three people in his house, saying he doesn't want guests touching his or his daughter's controller.
