My last computer was bought 8 years ago and while it was fine for playing my two favorite PC games (Starcraft and Diablo II), it was unthinkable to play anything graphically demanding.

Now I've ordered a new laptop and should receive it by the end of the month. Being stuck with an old computer for so long, I'm kind of out of touch with the PC gaming world. I know I want to get myself Civilization IV but apart from that I'm not aware of what games could be entertaining for me.

That's where the VGChartz community comes to the rescue, what games of the recent years do you recommend? (Note: I'm not a big fan of FPSs)
