windows 7 if i buy it after oct 22, and upgrade from vista home prenium/ultimate 64bit if i buy it now

but an ati 3470 256mb, i already got a decent desktop, i got games like gears of war , cod 4, resident evil 5,

should i be able to run those games in a resolution without looking bad?.

No, for gaming you should go with a Mobility 4650 or anything better, on the list linked above.

But any gaming laptop will have very poor battery life and cost double the desktop equivalent. You should buy a desktop for gaming.

well it runs almost everything at 1024x768 except crysis and resident evil 5.

runs bioshock gears, on med on 1600x900. on night on 1024x768

street fighter 4 without really well 60fps+.
