Indeed, the Big launch night of yesterday (near the Eiffel Tower) was the worst lauch of history !! Only 20 or 30 guys were there to buy the PS3 !! It's a big failure ! And it was the same in the "Virgin Mégastore" of "champs-elysées", in Paris ! It's incredible...

Chill everyone ;) Give it a couple of weeks, wait till we get some sales figures... then lets see how good or bad the launch was. It may not have appeared to be as successful as Sony would like, its still sales!

Do most of you know launch day is ALL of Friday... ? so people will be buying/picking up their consoles through out the day.... you know like after work ?

it's the publicity that's gonna hurt sony. that's what a launch is all about--free publicity. now it's free negative publicity.

It sounds like the Australian launch was also a disaster with ~50 people showing up, and in London where they were giving away HDTVs to the first 100 buyers ~120 showed up (so 100 to get an HDTV at a fraction the price, 20 suckers to get a PS3) I can't wait to see how Sony's press release spins this

I must say that I'm an "anti-Sony/PS3" but I'm French and can tell you that the 360 launch was unattended, I was the only one showing up in the Micromania store on D-day/H-hour! So even if it's bad news for a "PlayStation" console when we compare it to the PS2 launch in Paris (hysteria) we should wait a little bit to have a real view of the launch. (I'm wondering why launching a console on Friday!)
