Forums - Gaming Discussion - Turn 10: "Difficult" to replicate Forza 3

I hope PD doesn't do this when GT5 releases

'...without the partnerships and without the commitment, it will be very difficult for another team to replicate what we've done.' 'without the commitment'??? How many years has Polyphony Digital been working on Gran Turismo 5? 'without the partnerships'??? Didn't Polyphony Digital help Nissan model and design the new Skyline??? I think they've got the partnerships, and I think they're fucking committed.

Can't they stop with the "we're gods gift to racing in games" thing yet?

I know right? Polyphony Digital was developing racing games five years before Turn 10 was even a company.

Turn 10 being "gods gift to racing games" is laughable on how stupid they are making themselves look.

^ they are the underdog and their game it's not looking like it's going to be better.
so i guess they are acting on PR and hype.
marketing.

Shouldn't one of the possible purposes of having multiple SPE's be allowing to reserve one or more to physics engines?

of course.  But programming that is very difficult.
See Uncharted 2 for a game that properly uses the SPEs.

Hopefully PD is working on the same tech.

OK, this clarified, so, once the engine is ready and optimized, making it run at a given frequency should be a matter of how many objects at a time it must model.
