Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 will almost certainly beat 360

It's quite possible.

But you have to remember though it is a 6.76million unit lead and the PS3 is only beating the 360 by approx 90k each week, and it will be near impossible that we'll see another 500k+ week like we did with the launch of the PS3 slim. Not to mention that it's unlikely that MS will not take action against this sudden shift in momentum. I'm going to say that right now it's probably a 60% to 40% probability of placing second, with the 360 at the 60% (6.7 million is a massive lead).

ughh why do i even bother lol, yes if they are estimated that means it is inaccurate data!!, so for all we know halo3 might actaully sold a lot less or more copies then what the figure says, and the same can be said about FF7 too.

You just got owned, deal with it.  Learn your facts before you start claiming garbage in future.  You're not digging out of this, you've been caught out, just admit it and move on like any reasonable poster should.

yeah just like you always do lol^^
listen i was not wrong about the inaccurate data part, and at least i bothered to look at halo3 sales to state what they are recorded at.
all i said was that they was both inaccurate, which is true, and microsoft do report shipped figures not sold figures it's so sad that many people are in denial, it makes no difference tho, i have to give it to halo 3 because it still sold alot of copies, there u go first non fan-based comment ever

I didn't make the claim so why should I get data to prove a point.  I let you have enough rope to hang yourself and knew others would correct your mistake.

As for the bolded part, you should try it more often, its really not that hard being objective occasionally.  Thats not to say you cannot defend your favoured system, just do so with solid facts behind you and be careful making claims.  I have been proved wrong once or twice on here, both times I apologised for my error and moved on, thats what an adult should be capable of doing.

ok so maybe i thought at first FF7 sales were higher than 9.7 million i honestly thought they were over 10 million, because i'm sure i remember reading about it, but seen as they no longer track the sales, i cannot realy prove it can I?? So then i apologize, there u go, yes i apologise, i may well be very wrong.
still you got to admit that the ff series has sold alot of copies even some of the PS2 versions have done really well, and i still think that the PS user base is more interested in RPG's, compared to the xbox user base.

If you're interested in JRPG's then I think Sony have a wonderful history of supporting the genre. I actually prefer WRPG's but thats just because I never got the battle systems of older JRPG games. Traditionally I think the huge number of quality RPG games on the PS2 has lead to a larger amount of interest for RPG's on the PS3 (the userbase advantage in Japan further skews this too). The FF series is indeed a huge franchise though, I would never question that fact and will be a resounding success on the PS3.

Closer to release the week 1 and LTD predictions for FFXIII will be interesting, probably one of the toughest games this generation to predict just how successful it will be.

I love both JRPGs and WRPGs now since i played on oblivion, and I must admit WRPG's are growing on me.
I can understand how you feel about JRPGs many of my friends have the same problems with them.
Also I never used to like FPS games until I played on COD4, so yeah that game really got me into those kind of games, now I play on Uncharted 2, and I am so good at those games now I really enjoy it so much more than I used to (I really used to get owned all the time lol)

trust me, after this holiday 6.76 will look tiny.

...And another week of PS3 outselling Xbox 2.

Nope.

It will probably be down to about 5 million. After that PS3 wont gain much as sales enter the slow time of year. By fall 2010 Xbox 360 will see Natal, Halo Reach, price cuts etc.

There is no way PS3 can beat 360 in the USA this generation, and soon we can probably say the same for UK. Worldwide is still a tough fight, could go either way, but I think 360 will win.

Even if PS3 does pull ahead, it will almost certainly be in 2011 or later. If you had said that when PS3 launched in 2006, nobody would have believed you.
