If this is only for the RE: UC package, then i think it was the correct move -- however if it is for the standalone Wii zapper, or zapper+crossbow training -- that is shocking

Sounds about right if it is being bundled with RE UC but if its with Link's Crossbow training then that's not right at all.

The UK has some serious gun/gang problems at the moment. They're really following in the footsteps of America. So they're probably very sensitive about anything that resembles a gun or anything even suggestive of violence being put into the hands of teenagers.

A 16 year old was shot dead only 2 days ago, only 8 weeks after 11 year old Rhys Jones was killed.

Ya, because every problem in the world is America's fault. Stupid Americans. Your are influencing the world for evil!

Actually as far as gangs and youth violence you are. Not because your the first country to have youth gangs but because your the first to make it 'cool'.

andrewpeirce actully they can PEGI is only recmmended and it's not illigal for kids to buy a 18+ game for themself well I never heard of any of my friends bieng stopped

(okey can anybody please tell me what spelling fault I did up there I know there was some I just can't correct them)

If anyone can stillbuy it, who cares about the rating? Or is everyone concerend becuase its a form of censorship, and will severly hurt sales? Guess I answered my own question ;)

They are following the footsteps of America? Compared to Britain, America is but a child, agewise. It was Britain that used to pile beheaded bodies up at the gates of London.

Most "American" americans are descendents of Brits anyway.

I don't think that PEGI ratings actually matter, because I charge 16+ games to my debit card, which is registered to me, and I'm only 15. Anyway, it's unlikely that anyone under the age of 12 or 13 would actually buy it for themselves, and their parents don't really care generally. If the person is above that age, it is likely that the shop assistant wont care.

Anyway, there is a big difference to BBFC and PEGI ratings. The BBFC are very large and in red, they are displayed down the side of the box, like on a DVD (R:FoM and HS have 15 ratings and the GoWs have 18s) those are the ones that actually matter. GTA does have one, but I think that recently these signs have been made bigger. The one on GTA SA only has a tiny one, where as the HS one is bigger than the SONY symbol

Censorship!? Everyone can still buy it, did you ear that? How can it be censorship if everyone can still buy it, if publishers will publish, and advertise it all the same, and retailers will carry it and display it on the shelves!? Do you even know the meaning of the word censorship? That's a serious word to toss around like that.

This is a voluntary and informative system we're talking about, which places absolutely no restrictions on game sale. And it's a pretty good system at that. It's in the publisher's interest to inform parents, which are still responsible by the purchases of their underaged offspring. So the publishers do it, and in most countries (not the UK) it's the only system in effect.

And just in case you're not aware of this, quite a few games are PEGI 18+. All we know right now, is that Umbrella Chronicles is one of those, as was Resident Evil 4. What is the big deal with that?
