Never knew you could mess up a demo of a racing game. Just put a few cars and a track from the final build and you're done.

With a story mode it would be a bit more complicated to make a good section without revealing anything and the start of games are usually boring. E.G. Killzone 2.

Well, most racing games give you some latitude and more than just a track. I could understand if it was like GT5 demo on  PSN - you can do different events, but no - this is one track with different cars. Underwhelming.

But would it not give you the idea of what the actual driving is like?

Because to me that's the only reason I play GT. Haven't played the Forza demo by the way so I'm just wondering is the demo actually the same as the game, where gameplay is concerned?

^^just buy forza 3, play it trade it for gt 5 problem solved

Do cracked screens in cockpit view show in the final product?

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

That would involve buying a 360 as well.  And after last gen I'm never buying all 3 consoles again.

Let me respond to this later on tonight - it was way early when I was playing, but I think I remember a couple of them.

@ Jercotter - yes, it does give you the driving that's in the game. You can turn off assist, make some other changes. The final version has deep tuning and some light upgrade parts - as in, you can upgrade, but it's not very deep.

The cockpit view is pretty consistent with the cars I have driven. I raced with a Hyundai Genesis Coupe in the game (I have drifted in a real one a couple times) and in cockpit view, the visuals were pretty accurate (of course you need a seat that produces body roll to be believable).

It would have been cool to race the track in reverse and even an extra track or two. Regardless, the demo is ok - and if you liked the demo, you will LOVE the game. I saw my homie KN's thread about being underwhelmed by the demo - and I totally agree.

I was also underwhelmed by the KZ2 demo too and ended up liking the retail version.

I wish publishers and devs would do some homework and release a demo that makes folks want the game to the point of selling blood, bussing a few more tables and the like.

I LOL'd at that comment.  Based on your thoughts, I'll give the game a go when it launches on the 23rd...

BTW, I love your Avatar.  King stooge.

I hate trolls.

Systems I currently own:  360, PS3, Wii, DS Lite (2)
Systems I've owned: PS2, PS1, Dreamcast, Saturn, 3DO, Genesis, Gamecube, N64, SNES, NES, GBA, GB, C64, Amiga, Atari 2600 and 5200, Sega Game Gear, Vectrex, Intellivision, Pong.  Yes, Pong.

i think all demo's should say "This demo does not reflect the final retail product" in loud shouty caps and a voiceover before any demo loads up.

But madskills, I don't think the demo should be too dissed for having just the one track, GT:HD (just before GT5:p was released) also only had the one track and a bunch of cars too so it's nothing bad imo. It's just supposed to be a teaser after all imo

(it also weighed in about the same size iirc...)

Disclaimer: I'm not posting this to claim any kind of superiority or otherwise between two popular racing games, and I did not make this post to try derail this thread into a FM3/GT5 showdown.

Proud Sony Rear Admiral

Good so if i liked the demo this game should be even more amazing

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

I disliked the demo but I'm loving the game.. first day of release I was playing the game even with a splitting headache.. couldn't put down the career mode.. was playing till around 6~7am

I'd advise people to once they get used to the game increase the difficulty above easy ... much more rewarding and challenging.

I agree. I don't really play racing games at all so I decided I would give the demo a try because some of my friends said it was the best thing since underwear, so I downloaded it and was completely unimpressed. If a developer wants you to buy there game, they should entice you , not bore you.
