Ben and Stof haven't given me a warning because (up until now when we're going off topic) I haven't broken a single rule.

The fact of the matter is Crazzyman was using the exact same argument that could have been made about the Gamecube at the exact same point in its life. The post that SSJ quoted was a logical argument in context in that the Gamecube always had a handful of third party games on the horizon but it was never a massive number of games ... It was logical, it made sense and it was (mostly) on topic

 I'm trying to end any fanboyism at it's ankles. HappySquirrel calls me a Sony fan yet I warned and threatened ban on a Sony fan. If I see fanboyism from any of all 4 camps; PS3; PC; 360; Wii; I have no problem warning and eventually banning anyone who blantantly trolls and flames. Both me and Naz, at this moment, will be standing for a more proactive approach though, we will be working to ease situations and put out fires without warnings or bans as much as possible. We will only warn/ban if the situation calls for it.

I really don't care what his person bias was, there is no rule that he broke.

The people who were reporting these posts must be very sensitive. We had much, much worse debates on this forum and in this case there wasn't anything wrong, at least that's how I see it. Giving out warnings for illogical statements makes no sense. After all there is always the possibility that the poster in question just doesn't know better.

 Thats why there is a warning system but I also have a 4 strikes their out process wihch is nicer then the other mods. Plus my warnings can expire and be repealed if the warned appeals it with me. I am quite lenient and trying to be proactive then ban happy. . 

Let's not mix three things which are different, but often get mixed together with some people:

1- Fanboyism
2- Lack of logic
3- Trolling

While number 3 is clearly against the rules, I've never seen any rule against the first two.

And someone makes an argument about the sales similarities of the PS3 and the GC I have to ask who really finds it to be illogical, illconcieved, or even fanboyism??

Its a legitimate topic of discussion, and a reasonable and defendable position to take.  If someone goes over the top, flames, trolls, etc...then you step in.  But to warn him for having this discussion is overstepping your bounds.  If his position were as silly as you claim then it would easily be shown with a few logical arguments.

If you want to start warning and banning people for Fanboyism and Lack of logic, then please get that added to the rules of the site before you start doling out punishment.  And you can also expect to be put in the middle of many "shitstorms" as you are forced to make subjective decision after subjective decision with constant backlash from each and every one.  Its a nice thought in theory, but enforcement simply isn't practical short of an iron fist, and that would be even worse.

1.  The site should have a standard process for this.  Not left up to each mod's personal preference.  You can't suddenly backpedal your warning by saying "well I give 4!!!" 

2.  Your warning is unfair.  If this becomes a growing trend with your modding style ssj12, ioi will receive many PMs from posters including the above asking for your mod permission to be revoked.

Being a mod means you must be more responsible, not less.  We hold you to high expectations now and wish you the best of luck meeting them.  It is understandable that you need time learn about being a mod, but please learn well.  VGChartz is a great community and I'm sure we all wish to keep it such.
