Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Balance Board Now Used by Homeland Security

Air Marshalls are also trained on when and when not to whip out their guns. I don't trust the average guy in that situation.

You are missing the point.  What you said in the above thread is wrong.  Maybe your point is that you wouldn't mind if your mom carried a gun on a plane, as long as she was trained?

Anyway, I don't expect people in other parts of the world to have the same mentality of many of the folks in New Hampshire.  The state is known as the home of Live Free or Die for a reason.  People tend not to think the same way in other places.

Not cool, not cool at all. Hopefully, nothing like this every happens. Millions of people have stopped flying to the US because of the crazy TSA ways. Heck, I almost never fly because of it and I live in the US.

People need to be able to carry their guns on planes.

LOL wat!?

You are not from one of the parts of the US (or the US at all) with decent self-defense laws so it may be hard for you to understand.  I live in the part of the US with the least amount of crime (hardly any) and people walk around with guns almost everywhere (schools, the state house, police stations, bar while they are drinking).  So many people carrying so many guns helps keep the crime down (criminals are more afraid of normal gun owners than police).

Heck, read the comment above your comment, it is of the same point.

Wheres my nuclear weapon ? Everyone should have nuclear weapons then, it will make the world safer.

Personally, I'm against nuclear weapons because they are an offensive weapon.  Guns, at least when used in the US, are a defensive weapon the vast majority of the time.  Defensive weapons are fantastic because less violence is a good thing.

Agreed with the last sentence.

It's still funny that the Balance Board can be used for something like this though.

Great! Now any one who is nervous about flying gets to be harassed by airport security. Land of the free indeed...

The US is certainly not the land of the free.  Although, freedom can vary pretty widely from state to state.  States like NH tend to be the most free, while states like NY tend to be the least free.

Here is the ranking for all 50 states, http://www.statepolicyindex.com/

While people might disagree slightly about the order, the tends in the data are accurate enough.

WTF? It was only used twice in history and that was as an offensive move (despite arguments for the contrary) but to think that Nuclear Weapons are an offensive military stategy is quite possibly the dumbest thing i have ever heard.

That kind of excessive damage and massive civilian death potential simply is not considered logical, it is only a Defensive option. You don't know what you are talking about and your paranoia is going to lead to the death of civilization if you actually believe what you are saying.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Nulcear weapons are a "last resort" weapon (neither offensive or defensive), that have only been used twice, in 1 war, against 1 country, with amazing results!

The US was planning an invasion to Japan, thousands and thousands of lives on both sides would be lost. the first nuke was fired and Japan was still going to fight, the 2nd nuke was fired and they surrendered, no US troops died, and significantly less Japanese casualties than there would have been with a full invasion.

If nukes were truly an offensive weapon Iraq would be glass right now and we would have been done with it 8 years ago, but we know how serious a nuclear type war could be, and will do whatever it takes to avoid it.

I don't know if you are trolling me, want to be banned, or are just being sarcastic.  Either way, I don't see this ending up well so I'll end this talk now.
