You guys notice it was PSP sales that rose 300%, not PSP Go right?

Sure: for the sole PSP Go the increase from before the launch to after it is obviously ∞%

I wonder how much revenue went through PSN last week. I'm guessing a lot.

true, but my point was, that saying that this indicates the Go was a success is forgetting that PSP go only sold like 30K in the US

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

^^
Sony will have to consider very well how to split production up between PSP 3000 and PSP Go, then.

Meh. i know youre going to hate on it regardless, sure the PSP is flopping around, but the go certainly didnt plop out of the gate when compared to the Elite from MSFT, taking sales from 40k in america to only 60k, in terms of the introduction of new option SKU, it was extremely successful when discussed in an objective comparison with other past SKU's introductions (see Elite, previous PS3 Sku options). I highly doubt the bulk of the increased 300% sales came from 3000 users, but if we get split data we can know for sure.

The PSP 3000 standalone appears to have upgraded sales in the states according to VGchatz by about 150k, which is hard to track since it was the week before xmas, so take the info as you will in terms of new SKU bumps.

Sony stated that the Go generated strong interest in the overall PSP platform.

The overall PSP platform. I knew what Sony was talking about with this report. The Go's sells no doubt helped boost overall PSP sales.

Also wouldn't "top retailers" be major stores like Best Buy, Gamestop, Wal-Mart and Target?

Target didn't get the Go... At least mine didn't... I would have been the one checking them in...

This just says PSP sales and I do believe there was a price drop recently. This is no indication PSPGo sold well.

Nvm. Just checked what day it woulda been. I didn't work then
