Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Golden Axe: Beast Rider canned on PS3 - now 360 only

Apparently, I live on Mars as I wasn't even aware they were making a new Golden Axe, but there's news of some such that the PS3 version has officially been canned and the title is now a 360 exclusive. The game is going to make the cover of November's Play magazine and will supposedly be an action-RPG with a focus on mounted combat and will release in 2008.

I loved the original Golden Axe and was really pleased to see it on LIVE. Having a new game in the series will be fantastic if it turns out to be decent. Hope they include co-op...

Another game Sony lost... sigh...

Is that in-game? If so, nice animations.

If it is in-game then it's very impressive.

Although not a very important game, Sony keeps losing games. Do something about it, Sony! Help the developers learn your hardware; increase sales!

Reminds me of Lair.

@leo-j

if pulling facts out of... then, yes.

I don't think it's MS buying games as much as developing for the PS3 being such a bad investment at the moment. Hugely expensive and hyped games like Lair and Heavenly Sword failing to make a profit are causing developers to ask themselves how much money they're willing to lose out of loyalty to Sony, and many of them are starting to remember that they're supposed to make a living with this stuff.
