It doesn't say it will be expensive, just that it will get cheaper over time. Although I'd say about £150

Also, is except a mis-spelling of accept or expect?

Oh boy...:

except: with the exclusion or exception of <daily except Sundays>

Erm.  'except' doesn't make any sense in the sentence it was used in.  So it is a typo.  Probably of expect, but either expect or accept give a similar meaning.

Yes, and except is the wrong word for the sentence. It's grammatically wrong.

Some people seem to think that price cuts are standard operating procedure for peripherals. Has the Wi-fi adapter dropped in price? How about the 360's controller? Hell, Nintendo just used a software update as an excuse to increase the price of the balance board.

Price cuts for a peripheral are very unusual, and suggest to me that either MS is serious about treating Natal as a new platform, or that it's gonna be a pretty pricey peripheral. Maybe both.

if this is the case nobody will buy natel and ms will pricew them selfs right out of the race.

Sony's solution to motion controls look expensive too. A $40 camerea and a $30 + controller or two. Of course you need several pairs of these controllers for multipayer games.

Go Team Venture! I still don't get the Wii, PS Move,  and Kinect.

I figured as much. That technology wouldn't be made for cheap :

The Wi-Fi adapter actually is seeing a price cut shortly.

If it's expensive people won't get it.

If it's not adopted by many, it will get little software.

If it has little software, people won't get it when it's cheaper.

Natal will be as stillborn as the Saturn if this is true.

I LOVE ICELAND!

How can MSFT price natal less than $200 when they still sell the 120gb HD on their website for $150 bucks, the little wi fi dangle was $100.....

can you imagine the backlash from the press if they release natal for less than a freaking HD? Or even within 50 bucks of a wi fi dongle?

Its going to be bundled with a new SKU for $400 an dnot sold seperately until its successful and or they can drop the price to sub $100.....but even then how do they justify selling natal for roughly the same price as wi fi dongles and hard drives?

MSFT may have shot themselves in the foot with accessory raping. My best guess is Natal will have an entry price similar to a console for a long while an dprobably tied to a 360 sku to "bundle" and "hide" costs.
