Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Why did you pick Nintendo? Is it really gaming?

If you've never actually played the Wii, I wouldn't comment on it op!!! I own both the ps3 and Wii, I really do not have a lot of time to play video games but when I do have time I prefer the Wii!! I just enjoy the games better on the Wii!

nintendo make the best games. simple, i only own a wii. ive lent my friends ps3 and 360 and while i do think they are great they are just a tad to over the top with graphic rather than gameplay for me. im a security guard who does over 70 hours a week and when i have my free time i play wii with my girlfriend rather than puting her in a corner to watch me on halo or gta4. just my opinion and wii works best for me.

Cant comment on the wii since I dont have it but the DS is one of the best gaming platforms EVER.....which far too much to say to its competition.

My DS is still played to this day.....my psp is only used as an mp3 player so you tell me which was the better investment?

I dont play either.. =(

You dont play the DS!!?!?!!?!

It is BY FAR a better gaming platform than both the 360 and ps3....and this is coming from someone who owns them both.

N64 is the ONLY console of the fifth generation!!!

Well i dont own a DS nor do i own a Wii. I did own a DS light for like 20 mins but i taken it back to cash converters before i even played a game on it. I played brain training on my nieces DS light before though.

OK the thing is i dont really like nintendo's direction. It just doesnt have true games on the systems. Yes the DS has a few RPG's and a mario game but what else?

The wii just seems really overpriced for what it has or does. I almost brought one last spring for 120 pounds but i couldnt bring myself to do it. Yh it has like Mario galaxy. mario and sonic at the olympic games. And thats about it for. Am i missing something. What games do you get to satisfy you "true" gaming needs?

Why do you go for nintendo. What do they really have that keeps you comming back. is all your Wiis truly collecting dust in the corner and shit. Does a Wii owner need another console "HD" to get the full gaming experiance? I just dont see what brings people to buying it unless they are really fat or have kids. Educate me

And what are "true games?" Please enlighten me...

I already answered that in my post... "true gaming" means it runs in HD.

@ woopah

Na its just that i have been so iganront to the Wii upto know that i have missed all the forum chatter about whats supposed to be good games. I tryed listing games i wanted for the Wii a few months back because i was thinking of getting one before Zelda comes.

I managed to list about 8 games that have been released and what would be released. But the list is very scewed as i dont know what to look for on the Wii. I dont want lots of party games but thats what people make you think. Just go into PS3 and 360 and gaming threads and it makes the Wii look really poor.

I love mario games, Never really got into the metriod. I love Zelda. Star fox.

The reason i aint really into the ds is the same as the Wii. If i could get a DS for like 40 then i would be all over it.

Nobody's perfect. I aint nobody!!!

Killzone 2. its not a fps. it a FIRST PERSON WAR SIMULATOR!!!! ..The true PLAYSTATION 3 launch date and market dominations is SEP 1st

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

Some people play games for visual stimulation. Some play for the "movie like" experience. Others play video games for social interaction. Still others play games for the technological progression. I fall into all of the previously stated categories. But then, there are the times when I want gameplay. There are studios and companies out there that provide a good substitute, but there's nothing out there like a Nintendo game. They have a "feel" that longtime gamers who've played a well made Nintendo game can recognize.

I didn't buy a 360 until it had a great library. I thoroughly enjoyed the PS1 and PS2, but I didn't buy a PS3 until it had and impressive library. I bought a Wii without hesitation. It's not my #1 system this gen, but when Nintendo "does their thing", you can feel it. Already, with Zelda, Metroid, Mario Galaxy, and others, I've gotten my money's worth. And years after I've had my fill of Metal Gear and Gears of War, those Nintendo games will be the ones I go back to.

Nintendo is timeless.

I don't own a DS but I want one so bad, it has tons of good games and its sad that people don't know that because it is seen as a handheld with shovelware and pets games.

If I got a DS I would be getting all these games:

Mario Kart DS
Advance Wars: Dual Strike
Castlevania: Dawn of Sorrow
New Super Mario Bros.
The Legend of Zelda: Phantom Hourglass
The World Ends With You
The Legend of Zelda: Spirit Tracks
Kingdom Hearts 358/2 Days
Metroid Prime: Hunters
Dragon Quest IX
That Contra game

This is not all, but this gives you the jest of games that the DS can offer and
games like Castlevania, Metroid, and Zelda have been around for a long time on other Nintendo systems so if you are a Nintendo fan then that makes it even better.
