You can see the fanboys just by their hate. Nice job guys, keep it up so we know who you are (if we didn't already)....

Like most of the others have said RROD isn't dead but the new models have a failure rating similar to the PS3 or the wii. If you want to game, get it and be happy who gives a shit what other people think? As long as your happy with it that is.

it's still higher, E74 problems still way higher ps3 problems or wii problems

major ps3 and wii problems are only lens crapping out.

@thetruthhurts : those numbers are everywhere on the internet, if you want i look them for you.

failure rate of the wii and ps3 are about 2%.

lowest recorded fail rate 360  was 16% .

but of course.

http://digg.com/search?s=xbox+360+failure+rate

% are mainly hight 66-54-40-33-16%

http://www.engadget.com/2009/08/24/microsoft-responds-to-xbox-360-54-2-percent-failure-rate-report/

of course new models produce less heat, so it should be lower, but products are estimated over the years. not a single part ignoring the whole picture.

people who don't pay attention to their history are prone to make the same mistakes again.

@Xoj

the 16% was Feb 14th 2008,You honestly dont think a year later there not more rrod proof?

If you purchase the new 360s, your chances of having RROD is pretty slim.

The thing is, if new models are less than 2 years old, and most of the RROD problems came at around 2 years, how can you be sure the problem is gone?

i think it have halved. to around 8% but i don't think its near ps3 or wii.

and soon after jasper was introduced e74 started to appear on falcon which was said to fix the problem. many of my friends were burned of this.

because microsoft 3 year warranty only applies in the US. many of them play xclam and modded 360 and many of them getting ps3 this christmas.

well microsoft it's already 4 years, so even they fix it, the overall average wouldn't go down much.

but i hope microsoft learns going cheap, and fast doens't help.

next gen we have a better built console from them.

Talking from the perspective of someone who repairs at least one hundred 360's a week I've seen 2 Jaspers with RROD, one of those was related to a power issue on the motherboard not the GPU which is the most common denominator. In total I have handled maybe 100 Jaspers now, the huge majority are just services with any fault generally being a laser fault on their Liteon drives.

In short the failure rate has been greatly reduced but is still present. My small sample is obviously nowhere near accurate but it is my honest experience.

@Xoj

No one that iv known has had the E74, I think people are just blowing smoke from it.  Its not as big as the RROD.

And going cheap and fast does help, Sony won the last 2 gens because there consoles were fast and cheap, 360 has out sold the PS3 this gen,and thanks to the PS3 extra hardware they wont be able to keep the price even with the 360. When the 45mm chip gets released in the Markets then the Failure rate will be very low, 2-3%.

reduced greatly from launch, but microsoft still needs to bring the failure down even more, at least under 7 percent.

Not! Anything less than 20% would be unacceptable comfort: MS users must learn obedience and suffering!

You'll have a ROD almost for shure if you buy a 360.

But it has 3 years warranty, in the worst case you don't play for a month. If you want it, buy it.

Wow, so I see your trolling extends to all things 360 and not just Natal.

There is no guarantee he will get RROD, and if he buys a NEW 360 like he says, it is actually almost guaranteed that he WON'T get RROD.  He does still have that 3 year warranty to cover it in case it happens, and worst case scenario he would be without his 360 for a week or two.

At least MS has manned up and admited their hardware errors, unlike Sony who still charges $150 for every YLOD repair which always seem to be needed outside of the 1 year warranty....

and 360 fans(fanboys) have to bring sony into every 360 discussion just to make their mama's company look better yet again.

Ignore the Sony Fanboys.

Yes its GONE. Jaspr models are fine , got mine like February and its running so smooth (i upgrade now i have 2 360´s working smooth).

Get a Xbox 360 MW2 Bundle , its JASPER , has 250GB so u can install the game to HDD and download alot of things from Xbox Live.

RRoD is gone , Jaspers are fine ... Sony Fanboys like to say not but dont believe they are just jealous that they cant afford the True next gen Console.

Buy it and have fun , make sure u get Xbox Live for 30$ on Amazon or Ebay and enjoy games like MW2 on Xbox Live and meet new people!

Have FUN =)

Oh and if u need to play wirless make sure u buy the new one adaptor...its black but is much better , it gives 1000MBS so u can Stream 1080p Videos from Future Zune MarketPlace and u got better conections but believe me if u can play by cables just get WIRED because its SO MUCH BETTER!

i would REALLY REALLY like to see the link where it says RROD is gone. No scratch that, just the link where it says its down to 5% failure rate. No, scratch that, juts the link where it says its down to 10% failure rate. All people here claming RROD is gone or reduced greatly have no link to back up their facts. But when some shows up with survey saying 360's failure rate is 54% or 30-33% that survey is of course made by a fanboy and its not true
