Forums - Website Topics - On a Scale of 1-10, How Satisfied Are You With This Site?

I hate rating systems, since numbers don't reflect your liking about any particular things, but since it's asked, i'll say 9/10

This is the best forum i've ever been, and most people in here are resonable and coherent, so you can have a proper gaming discussion with them.
What i dislike about this site is that some members show a true lack of respect for anything other of what they like, trully imature from their part, and that i've seen some unfair/unbalaced bans from the mods from time to time.

If you stick with the right people, the site is pretty awesome. Plus, with VGChartz 2.0, some of the worst members left the site!

The Games Database is great, the Reviews are somewhat great (Machina-AX and Torillian make the best ones IMO), the News are mostly up-to-date by the contributors or random forum members (thanks to you guys!) and the free numbers can create a bunch of interesting discussions we don't really see anywhere else on the web.

With all that said, it's an easy 10/10 for me.

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

11/10 leave it there.

One day I was curious about video games statistics and found out about this site with a quick search on google. I never thought I would visit it that often. Now it's one of my favorite sites. I'm not very active on the forums, I just like to read them. The stats have become adicting in some way to me haha. I like to keep track of things.

I used to like the simplicity of the previous vgchartz.
This version kinda explodes in your face with so much information on the front page...but you get used to it.

I'd give it a 8/10

Pros:
+ Chartz + Statistics
+ Forums
+ News
+ Newly added Reviews

Cons:
- Front page has too much info. It would be cool if we could customize it.
- The colors, kinda hurt the eyes :P

Really overall, all that I don't like much about the site is the new layout.

At some point, something must have come from nothing...

...nothing can come from nothing...

A strong 9/10. Nowhere near perfection, obviously has some flaws whether it's in the community or numbers. However, it is a good dedicated gaming site. Better than the ones I know...*cough* gamespot *cough*.

News come in everyday and active forum posters makes it a solid, good and mostly reasonable site.

8/10

+ Great community. Active members. Members that like to contribute. Members that know their gaming.

- The site feels a bit messy.

Site is awesome 8/10.. only thing I dont like is the ads and how flash heavy this site can get.. especially if im running my pc on powersaving mode...

Doubt is not a pleasant condition, but certainty is absurd.

5 THINGS I'd like to see before i knock out:

a. a AAA 3D sonic title

b. a nintendo developed game that has a "M rating"

c. redesgined PS controller

d. SEGA back in the console business

e. M$ out of the OS business

Around a 9/10 for me.

Awesome job from the contributors. Plus the fanboys add some spice to the forums. Imagine forums with only like-minded people and without fanboys. Its scary.

Often we crave pple who think like us, but actually we enjoy some debate from the opposition.

Big thumbs up to IOI and the rest!

On the subject of the Japan preview - this has already been explained numerous times in the past.

We get early SOFTWARE information, which forms the preview. We do NOT get any early hardware data so hardware figures are purely speculative based on how software has performed, knowledge of any price cuts / new models, historical trends etc. So the software estimates are based on actual hard data (and as such are normally very accurate) whereas hardware is a blind estimate and as such is good only as a guide.

Obviously this is a sly dig because our PS3 estimate in Japan was 10-15k too low last week - I really don't see why that is a big deal to people - like I say it is meant purely as a ballpark guide.

Numbers are rarely, if ever, "waaaay off".

So Japan preview is, and always has been, guesswork when it comes to hardware sales?

Yes, as everybody knows

I wasn't aware of this, but now I am

Please explain to me the difference between "Guesswork" and "Estimate". My english might not be good enough to grasp the difference.

Both are based on a set of assumptions and data that might vary in quality, but when is the actual point a "Guesswork" changes into an "Estimate"?

The Japan preview is linked to from other sites. It's not exclusive to members.

Is there an explanation as to why there is a section called, 'Understanding the preview', yet the point about hardware figures being guesses is not mentioned?
