Forums - Gaming Discussion - Would you buy a 360 if EA goes exclusive with MS?

Checks ps3 game collection.

Erm only 2 of them are from EA. Both games i only played for like 2 hours or so.

So the answer is a resounding no. Oh wait let me check my wish list first.

Nope EA currently have no game at all that i want at the moment

This is in relation to my PS3. I still get the sims for the PC

There is nothing that the 360 has over the PS3 and is not even close to "as good" as the PS3. The controller statement is your opinion as is mine on the crap 360 controller. I hope the Playstation never changes there base controller as it truly is the best and most comfotable controller ever designed. Having my hands off-set to use the sticks on the 360 controller is almost as bad as the N64 controller. Notice I said almost. I do however own a Wii and only play it when my kids have friends over that dont own one and want to play it. Aside from that, my own kids dont play the damn thing. Not sure why they dont, but they sure do love the PS3. For me, I am a big Mario fan and always find those games fun......that said, the controller for the Wii sucks as well. slightly better than the 360 controller as well, but not by much and not for the types of games I play. I could not imagine GOW on the Wii.

As for EA, I dont like them. There games are generally crap and they have just destroyed the football franchise of games. Madden 10 is there best game in a long time, and its still not that great. They put out rushed incomplete games then charge for a butt load of DLC to make it what it should have been to begin with. Capcom is the same but thats another story.

Being a gamer has everything to do with why I continue to own Playstation and choose them as my main console. There hardware is rock solid and cutting edge and there first party games are always outstanding. That and there controller is tried and true. The buttons and sticks are all in the right spots plus it has motion control. A true gamer wants the best gaming experience and doesnt settle for less. They dont just play any POS and say its great because they are a "gamer". There are standards for everything. How many car enthusiests do you see with Ford Pintos in there garage? Just because people have a passion for cars, doesnt mean they like them all. I can be a "true gamer" and not like a game or a console a game is on without being a fan boy. I never said I dont like some of the games the 360 has, I said would never play them because I dont like the controller. The game would not be the same and the experience would not be as good having to play with something so uncomfortable. I played the Wii a lot when I got it thinking the controller may grow on me and realized after some time that it wouldnt. It now sits collecting dust until what I stated above occurs. Maybe I will get the wife Wii-fit for Christmas but I would bet she will get bored with it fairly quickly.

The Dual Shock # is the worst collection of controller ever made. It started out as a SNES clone which was ok, and then because sony found out they screwed up so bad (thanks to Nintendo again) they added analog sticks in the most uncomfortable place ever. It is a hard long reach that makes using the joystick inaccurate. On every other controller I've ever used I can move my character with ease in the exact direction I want. Due to the low offset nature of the left analog stick on the Dual Shock it causes me to have issues moving perfectly up, down, left or right. All the time it is slightly off, and in those games where it matters it sucks.

Not only that, but Sony has no imagination and is still stuck in the 5th generation. Yes they tacked motion onto their remote, but this is still just a beefed up version of a PS1. Sony is finally doing something new with the PSWand, but that is another controller clone of Nintendo. Will sony ever learn to create their own controller without copying Nintendo? I hope they do so they can create something decent for once. They had a chance with the boomerang controller but wussed out cause Nintendo didn't make it first.

Also, we should revisit the horrible reliability of the PS1 and PS2. Both had DRE's and the general solution was to flip your console upsidedown. However, due to the fact that the internet wasn't popular people didn't know there were others who were on their 4th PS2. In both consoles it took them until the slim version just to make one that didn't break all the time.

If you drop a PS3 right on top of a Wii, it would definitely defeat it. Not so sure about the Xbox360. - mancandy

It would depend on what EA developed for the 360, I do own a few EA titles for Wii but nothing that I'd buy a system for.

I think some people need to get there ego's out of the equation and blind fanboy loyalties. Maybe then we might get some more honest answers.

Anyway if i didn't own a 360 i guess i would purchase one (if EA going exclusive was my reason) because they own my favorite developer, Bioware.

My Eyes!!! The Goggles Do Nothing!!!

Why wouldn't u buy a 360 anyway?
Oh wait, I know. Because teh ps3 has all teh exclusive awesomeness right?
And 1000% xbox fail and M$ is such a shady company.

Never, The 360 controller is just horrible. GOW3, GT5 and Uncharted could go 360 exclusive and I wouldn't buy one due the horrible controller. I would hate to miss such great games, but my hands would thank me.

Worst controller is for Atari 2600. The Xbox 360 controller most ergonomically designed controller I've laid my hands on. At least Microsoft doesn't use the same freaking controller design every new generation. If Uncharted and the other games you mentioned were on X360 and you refused to get one because of that, well that just be plain ignorant. Honestly I don't understand some of you sony fanboys is it that hard to buy another console so that you can enjoy the best of everything. To me it just sounds like Sony pride/arrogance. I mean take myself for example: I like Microsft's console best but I would never in a million years give up my Wii or PS3 just because of it nor would I be so damned picky. I can't stand a lot of the crap Sony pulls but if EA or any company that had a huge games portfolio went exclusive there would be a good chance I would take their system over Microsoft's because I wouldn't want to miss games from good franchises. The X360 is just as good a game console as the PS3. (Unless you go off of ign.com where they have Xbox 360 higher in ranking over Playstation 3 in their top 25 game consoles of all time listing) IMO they are equal in value in many ways and both are a little worse/better than the other in other ways. Some of you need to just get off your high horse and just be a GAMER and not a FANBOY!

No D-Pad = no good. At least the atari 2600 has a joystick, which is even better than a d-pad. Maybe the Xbox+ controller will finally have a D-Pad, until then... no chance.

Well EA would have no real effect, until Dead Space I hadn't liked an EA game since the Commodore 64, they are generally everything I hate in a game company.

You know who would have to sign an exclusivity contract with Microsoft for me to buy an Xbox?

SCE!!
(or Blizzard, I'd buy an N-Gage if I had to to play their games)
(or Capcom+Ubisoft+Square+KOEI)

Games machines owned: C64*, NES, SNES*, PS1, PS2*, PS3* (*still own).

fuck it dream cast for ever MOUHAHAHA

seriously this post is a joke

@darendt
I'm sorry it's not a question of opinion at all for the controller if you have problems to reach the sticks on the 360 and think the dualshock has it in the right position you should check in with your physician... i'm talking from a medical stand point the dualshock is not following the natural set up of a human hand compare to the 360 controller.... now that you prefer the dualshock for whatever reason is another debate.... but you can't deny an ergonomic fact relying on empirical physical facts... unless you have a physical problem (no offence) but anyway that debate is stupid when it comes to judge the 2 consoles as you can easily use either pads on both console.... I do have a dualshock for the people like you... so i don't hear the excuse "it's because of the pad i lost" when i kick there asses in a game....

Again, your opinion. The "ergonomic fact" is that putting your hands in 2 different positions for the same device is not comfortable. Thats it, those are the facts.

HAHAHAHAHA
EA? REALLY?

I think I would be better off if no more EA games came out for my system.

EDIT: although FIFA is a very very fun game, I admit.
