It was around a 6 million gap last year and the 360 gained 2 million on it.

a 6 million gap is worst case scenario I think. The gap will be closer to 4.5 - 5 million imo, but it's always nice to have a little cushion ;)

28.5 million, max. Sony can't even make enough PS3s to break 30 million this year, much less sell them. It may well be that supply constraints turn out to be all that hold the PS3 back from 30 million, but hold it back they most certainly will, because even Sony cannot sell a PS3 that has not been built.

What do I hate about modern gaming? I hate tedium replacing challenge, complexity replacing depth, and domination replacing entertainment. I hate the outsourcing of mechanics to physics textbooks, art direction to photocopiers, and story to cheap Hollywood screenwriters. I hate the confusion of obsession with dedication, style with substance, new with gimmicky, old with obsolete, new with evolutionary, and old with time-tested.
There is much to hate about modern gaming. That is why I support the Wii.

Marketing numbers, made well before they had to completely replace their line with the PS3 Slim. There's no chance of it now.

30 Million for the PS3 by the end of the year is very realistic, I can see it going for 31-32 million...the January to March period is gonna be huge for them with Heavy Rain (if advertised properly), God of War 3 and Gran Turismo 5 releasing...I can see the PS3 easily selling 2-2.5 million units in this time bringing them to a grand total of 33-35 million by March 2010.
