Forums - Gaming Discussion - What has been Biggest disappointment this Year??

I don't think I've been disappointed this year, I've been expecting very little. Though I must admit, I'm a bit sad to see two new MGS games with Kojima working on the other and the other one being made for milking. Not a huge surprise though. Also, the new Wolfenstein game isn't as good as it should be but I expected it. And finally, I was a bit surprised to see DNF pretty much cancelled.

@OP: You deserved to be disappointed. You expected too much.

TGS was terrible.

Nintendo's 1st party line-up for the Wii, perhaps worst year since they started making consoles.

Definitely the delays. I was supposed to be playing Splinter Cell: Conviction and Mass Effect 2 by Christmas

THIS!!!

Random game thought :
Why is Bionic Commando Rearmed 2 getting so much hate? We finally get a real game and they're not even satisfied... I'm starting to hate the gaming community so f****** much...

Watch my insane gameplay videos on my YouTube page!

For me, it would have to be Samurai Shodown Anthology & KOF XII. Both of which are made by SNK Playmore.

Samurai Shodown Anthology lacks Samurai Shodown V Special while Samurai Shodown V doesn't have the cutscenes, pre-fight dialogues, & the character specific endings. I'm pretty sure that Samurai Shodown II doesn't have the fatalities & even the option to change the language of the text for any game on the collection is gone too.

KOF XII has really bad online play & the AI for the single player mode is pretty bad too. Not only that, but the characters have lost quite a bit of their moves, the single-player mode is not much more than a glorified time-attack mode & it doesn't even have a boss. There's no way that I'll be paying $60 for this game.

In fact, SNK Playmore is rather disappointing almost as a whole lately.

I LIKE REDMOON ONLINE. IT'S TEH MOST AWESOMEST MMORPG. RUNESCAPE HAS NOTHING ON IT. ;) My full Videogame collection (Well, not really that full): http://www.backloggery.com/marktheshark I'LL COOL YOUR ANGER WITH AN ICE SPIRIT BLAST!!!!111111!!!!!!111!!!!1!!! Video games in general. I don't know, maybe its my age (25), but this is the first year I've looked at the industry with as much cynicism as I do. I feel like we're moving more and more towards several franchises dominating sales while other games struggle to even see mediocre success.

I don't own a Wii, but it's almost disappointing how brave developers became in trying to transition "hardcore" game genres over to the system and found little to no success. Mad World, The Conduit, and some others were awesome games that just did not do as well as they should have sales wise, especially considering the install base of the system. The Wii was in some ways a great step forward for gaming, and I'd rather it not take two steps back now.

The abuse of meta-critic has become rather disheartening as well. Maybe its just me, but I absolutely hate the "This game scored below an 85 on meta, its terrible!" vitriol that spews from fanboy mouths. Does it matter?

Also Resident Evil 5 rubbed me the wrong way. It had a little too much "Hollywood" , if that makes any sense.

Resident Evil 5!. Yes it was a good game ,but a major dissapointment, as it was Resident Evil 4 with tarted up graphics. The enemies were basicly the same, the story was far too predictible.

Madworld, it was supposed to be the best game of the year; I hated it, so boring... Luckily Little King's Story and Rune Factory Frontier turned out to be awesome.

I describe myself as a little dose of toxic masculinity.

Splinter cell conviction delayed till 2010 :(

I mostly play RTS and Moba style games now adays as well as ALOT of benchmarking. I do play other games however such as the witcher 3 and Crysis 3, and recently Ashes of the Singularity. I love gaming on the cutting edge and refuse to accept any compromises. Proud member of the Glorious PC Gaming Master Race. Long Live SHIO!!!!

Dam...I got my hopes on Grandia 4 but nothing..
