Forums - Nintendo Discussion - The Another World, biggest DS game of 2010?

Level-5 and Studio Ghibli team up for the largest (literally) DS game ever...

When it was announced Level-5 - acclaimed developer of the recent Dragon Quest titles and the Professor Layton series - would be teaming up with Studio Ghibli - one of the world's most renowned animation studios, we were sent into a dizzying frenzy of anticipation.

RPG Ninokuni: The Another World is the product of the dream partnership, and is releasing on the largest DS ROM to date: clocking in a 4Gb card. This space is to accomodate not only the sumptious visual style, but specifically the game's epic musical score. Oh, and you can probably expect a pretty hefty main quest to boot as well.

The Another World releases in Japan in the spring of next year. Expect a western release to be a way off...

This game looks stunning, and really high budget for a DS game. Level 5 steps it up with this one. Easily first on my must buy list.

Embedding the video doesn't seem to work, sorry, maybe someone else?

Never thought that there are so big DS cards. I think the biggest i ever seen is 128 Megabyte ... but almost 500 Megabyte? This is huge! Prepare for massiv FMVs from Ghibli.

512 Megabyte if I'm not mistaking?

You can interpret biggest in two ways from the title.

Already surmised a few weeks ago, but it's nice to see further evidence.

Now let's see what other epic games can fit on one. Say Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and IX (separately of course).

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Yes it's 512 MB: they said 4 Gb which is 512 MB...
There are some 256 MB cards but a 512 one is new!
Definitely hyped for this.

CURRENTLY PLAYING: Xenoblade (Wii), Super mario 3D land (3DS), Guild Wars (PC)

there you go

    R.I.P Mr Iwata :'(

Why don't they just slap in some micro-sd card?

MY HYPE LIST: 1) Gran Turismo 5; 2) Civilization V; 3) Starcraft II; 4) The Last Guardian; 5) Metal Gear Solid: Rising

Suikoden: Tierkreis and Personal Trainer: Cooking both use the 256MB card.

This is a big leap though. I hope the game is good.

The tech likely wouldn't work that way.
