Assuming the game is GTA... They wont be throwing away 7-8 Million sales, as a small majority of them will likely own a PS3. And another large majority will buy a PS3 for the game, if they like the series that much.

In reality, they would be losing say... 2-3 Million sales. Which if Rock* want to keep a higher quality thing going... Could be worth the risk.

Of course there is still the 30+ million potential customers though...


well i still disagree, both install bases are important to them- but the Xbox 360 install base is surely the most important install base they have this gen out of the 3 consoles.

Seems like for all 3 console owners. Losing a 3rd party game to an exlcusive console is like being the fat kid who was never picked to play baseball...

But if they want a bigger game than GTA4, they might HAVE to leave the 360. Unless there is some way you can have a sandbox game on multiple discs.

@ bolded, sounds reasonable - honest question in return: was their talk about GTA IV (legitimate talk, not forum banter) being limited in scope by the size of DVDs?  I honestly don't remember.

I have no idea. But i highly doubt they could fit much more onto a single DVD. With games like Forza 3 now needing 2 DVD's the next GTA is also likely to need multiple discs. And i just dont know how they could do that with a sandbox game.

Hopefully they're talking LA Noire. That game looked sick then it seemed to just die (XFL style). Agent is already announced as exclusive so it shouldn't be that.

I won't hold my breath on GTA5.

That depends on your definition of "serious" game. It's the best selling M-rated game ever, but are you implying that Super Mario Bros. and Pokemon Red/Blue are jokes?

EDIT: It is also, interestingly, the best selling non-Nintendo game ever. And it's in 13th place overall.

That can be flip flopped with the exlusive dlc 360 gets for gta4. This is just with new ip's, not that far fetched to me.

LMAO.  I want to see how much Rockstar shares will drop if this ever happen.  Lets make a game for the PS3 and alienate America user base.  The PS3 is not taking over America market share anytime soon.

1st of all it cant be LA Noire he is talking about okay?he said "It's a franchise that is already out."
but i would prefer a LA Noire exclusivity instead of Agent!cause LA Noire is like a new GTA IMO!

and a new GTA exclusive to PS3 sounds good...they want to do a big fukkin world but on one disc i guess...more discs are not the style of rockstar i think maybe they are like its 2009...why changing discs...and from the sales...a GTA exclusive on PS3 would easily do over 12-13 mill i think same with x360 if it would be exclusive to them...maybe even GTA SA sales cause u never know!

I only know its gonna be some good years for Sony since the slim release and with GT5,GoW3,FF Versus XIII and some Rockstar exclusives this will be an interesting Gen!
