Forums - Sales Discussion - Who is still buying PS2's?

Which part of the Market do you believe is still buying PS3's??? Is this 'new' market that Nintendo is trying to carve out having to compete against the popularity, the price, and the games on PS2? It's not like their graphics are much different, and thus would the average consumer who buy's a PS2 NOW plan on buying another console any time soon? Or will the massive back catalogue of awesome cheap games for PS2 tide them over? Where do you think all of these PS2 numbers still come from? It can't be hardcore gamers... surely they've already got one by now?

the PS2 is culture and has really great games. and the PS2 is quite cheap at the moment. so people which never had a ps2 (and/or the money) can now get it for a good price.

I see it as a few groups of people. Bargain shoppers who held out for a low price. People with kids who want a cheap starter console for their children with a good amount of cheap games(GC and GBA fall in here as well) People replacing their old or broken PS2 and People who just never got around to buying it during it's lifetime(while it was considered the "big" system still)though these people are probably in the minority.

People like me that just wants guitarr hero? A lot of casual gamers is buying the PS2 for buzz singstar and guitarr hero

Buy it and pray to the gods of Sigs: Naznatips!

Not anymore at the moment, reason is because PS2 games are like crap on a LCD TV even with a component cable :( Any tips by the way? Or else I would still be buying Japanese RPG games and especially Rogue Galaxy Director's Cut and Harvest Moon Pure Innocent Life :(

I dunno my PS2/GC games look fine on a LCD. It could be the TV or I dunno there's so many things it could be.. just make sure it's set for it's max resolution.

For (roughly) $200 you can get a PS2 with 5-10 of the system's best exclusive games (depending on whether you go used or not) ... If you didn't own a PS2 you should buy one at this point in time
