Forums - Sales Discussion - PS3 outsells Wii in other Europe (TOTAL)

I think you've got it all mixed up about consoles in Greece Mr. PS3 gamer

I live in Greece and I can tell you that walking around Greek shops you'll see much more space given to the PlayStation 2 and the WII games than the PS3 and Xbox 360 ones.  I would even challenge you to take a walk and find out that Xbox 360 seems to have more followers judging by the space provided for videogames.

All these, including your happy announcement for the superiority of PS3 sales is purely your very own speculation and only that.

Greece does not have an optimised videogame sales data, therefore, there is no way that you can really know what exactly is going on (and giving these percentages about each console's sales is outrageously wrong and childish to say the least since Greek console representatives and Greek video game stores do not reveal relevant information).

You may think that PS3 is the king of sales and I may think it is not.  You can have your opinion and i can look at the stores shelves;  but in the end, one thing is for sure:

GREECE HAS NOT DEVELOPED AN OFFICIAL DATA TRACK SYSTEM FOR VIDEO GAME SALES

Thanks for reading :)

Most Greek gamers are PS2 owners which are not really gamers, all they know is PES, Gran Turismo and thats it really, after that games are picked judging by the box-art, name and that little description behind the box. I am 30 years old and since 1997 its all about playstation in our country. You can not deny that. Before 1997 it was all about nintendo. I dont know where you live but I live in Athens and I know what I talk about. Same in Thessaloniki (2nd biggest city in the country) which i have lived there for 18 years. I dare you to take a walk to renting shops and try to find Wii games, also the x360 titles are very few and at most cases they are all avaliable for rent...while the places are packed with PS3/PS2 games which atleast the new ones are all the time rented. One good example is Seven Spots (though they have Wii games there). I know this because I am a Wii owner too and its really really hard to find Wii games for rent.

I agree with you Greece has not deleloped an official tracker but the Plaisio Shops are very good estimate of the situation in Greece.

I will not say xbox is a taboo in Greece as the OP said but in here video games = playstation
