Forums - Sony Discussion - GT5 DAMAGE on ALL CARS confirmed by IGN

If PD does a damage engine as similar as GPL or even GP2 (Geoff Crammond was a genius when it came to the whole F1 simulation world) then that would make me excedenly happy, that was one of the best damage simulation ever present in a video game.
You could actually feel all the hampers on your performance with such minute things like hitting the gravel and distorting your roll-bars, a small wheel-to-wheel bump would actually give you a huge perfomance impact to your suspension and brakes, and so many other things

As if driving them totally undamaged wasn't hard enough! GPL rules, my favoured car is the Brabham, I like its torque at low RPM and its lightness, I suck in qualifications, but with the Brabham I can overtake a lot of cars at start.

My favourite was the Lotus 49, due to it's higher spring rate ratio, which allowed me to push on the curbs almost 10 km/h faster than the competition cars, with the trade-off of less top speed, which made winning any race that involved stretches of more than 1 km or straight lines, almost an impossible feat xD

i cry a bit everytime i see a ferrari damaged ;_;

@lestatdark:
I like the Lotus too, its V8 is second after Brabham's one for my driving style and tastes, but I find the car a little bit more difficult. Every now and then I try the BRM with results more laughable than usual, but its high revolving H16 engine is enjoyable anyway, alas the weight kills it...
Never tried the Cooper, the fact that even I can overtake them easily makes me think they really suck. IIRC the manual says they are the easiest to drive, so maybe I should give them a try as training.
Together with Myth I, Gothic I and Fallout 2 it's the best game I ever got as gift with a magazine.

finally :D you get penalized for driving like an idiot. Knowing that it will be applied to all cars is a plus for me

Wow, what magazine is that? the only good game i ever got with a magazine was Pharaoh .___. our magazines in here suck big time.

The cooper has a tremendous downforce support due to it's upwards frontal design, which killed it's top speed by almost 15 km/h, so yeah, they suck big time xD

I got GPL and Fallout2 with "The Games Machine", and Gothic with "Giochi per il Mio Computer", both Italian PC gaming mags. Myth with a mag that lasted only a few issues. Not always games included are so good, but luckily it happens, every now and then. Once I got Ultima Online, but I was never able to install it due to an incompatibility with my sound chip back then.

This explains the delay of the game. Its good that they are putting damage on all the cars. Some people were complaining about it in my school and said they will get Forza 3 instead. Bad choice.

How's that ridiculous? It makes perfect sense. People are getting tired of waiting on GT 5. Forza will be a good game, no question about it.

Also, I'm glad to see I'm not the only one who finds it absolutely ridiculous that it's taken this long for GT to feature car damage. The arguement has never been that you can wall ride to victory, but that you can knock all the other cars out of the way to win.
