A free game, free drinks and food... and probably a sort of party with music and all for the launch. That's quite cool enough to justify waiting for the console. Here in France, there's a party near the Eiffel Tower tonight. But for now in every shop i went to, the demo PS3 were all left free and no one seemed to care about the PS3...

Does anyone know that there are 1 Million PS3 systems released on day one in Europe? I remember reading that there was going to be "1 Million PS3 systems in the launch window" but I have not seen any confirmation on how many there would be on launch day.

yesterday, Georges Fornay (french CEO of SonyEurope) talks about 60K pre-resa (and 100k or 150k PS3 available for the launch), for France. (he reminds that Wii has had 75k in the launch week) Don't think PS3 will sell good in my country... HappySurriel : I have heard about 1 million PS3 for the first month. (and : 350K for Great Britain, 150 or 100 K for france during the first day

Well 220k in UK, 150 in France (according to Fab) so I would guess ~200k in germany. 5-10k in each scandinavien country x4 (finland counted to) = 600-700k mayby? Add some 100k for italy, spain, switzerland and so on. You are probarbly close to 1 million.

Preorders for the Benelux alone are above 44k since a week or so ago (50k expected to be available for launch).

I read reports of estimates of about 300k for the UK.

How early could preorders have been made? I really think Europe may have originally planned on doing what America did, buy, buy, buy and sell sell sell. But as this has seemed to backfire on many here in the states and with so many systems at launch with no prospect of a complete sellout do you think many people will be abandoning their preorders?
