Forums - Microsoft Discussion - How are Zune HDs doing in your area?

So…I was seriously deliberating whether to get a Zune HD 32 GB or a IPod Touch 64GB, but it seems like the Zunes are all sold out at Best Buys and Walmarts on Oahu…I’ve yet to check with Target, but I found this to be pretty amazing.  M$ has been might low key about the Zune HD, imho, and it would seem that they didn’t ship that many…or it is selling much better than they ever anticipated.  I toyed around with the demo Zune HD for a while, and I love the thing…but the IPod Touch 64 what I was looking forward to for a while.  I’m a bit torn at this point in deciding which one to choose, but I’m leaning to waiting another month to let the air clear a bit.

XBL games for the Zune interest you?

No idea. But I love mine.

64GB Touch is just sweet. Apple fan though so I like all the products from the same company because I know when I connect it and use it, it just always works. I've got the plug to play the iPod out to any AV device and it's just cool. Who in the world wants High Def video on such a small device anyway?!? Might as well put a Cell processor into the thing if we are going beyond realistic and into ridiculous. HD on such a device is just silly to me. Like buying a Blu-Ray discman.

Consoles owned: NES, N64, PS1, GC, PS2, Wii.

Currently playing...

Well when I have an HDTV and most of my friends do to, taking HD video in my pocket to all their houses sure looks and sounds a lot better than taking standard def video and playing it on an HDTV. Plus free HD Radio tuner built in is a nice touch :)

the Zune HD is a very sexy piece of technology...if you have an xbox 360 you should definitely get one. It is also way cheaper than the iTouch

I'm leaning to the Zune, but it's not really that much cheaper...only $10 for the comparable 32GB IPod touch, plus I'd get a 6% discount at the Apple store on the IPod, making it cheaper for the 32GB.  I've messed around with both at the stores, but  I'm jsut trying to figure out how seamless the Zune integrates with XBL?

You'll probably have to wait until Xbox Live updates to the Zune Marketplace to get a full idea on that.  The main reasons I would choose the Zune over the iPod is for built in HD radio tuner, HD video output, and the potential integration with my 360/Xbox Live.  That and streaming songs, videos, etc is a nice touch.

I played with the Zune HD - couldn't get it working right, but what I could play with was pretty cool.

I will admit - for the money you spend, why not get an iPhone that does video capturing?

Because the iPhone requires a contract with a crappy service provider?
