It's not the harsh word's I would use, but yea it is getting kind of silly:
IT's about the whole game catalog, not just ONE game.
Some people think its about one single game or a system will fail...god if that was the case why make more than just one game!.
No one game need's to save the PS3!
its already saved, an for me I would rather have NEW IP's than a tried an true game in its 5th version.
To me it's getting kind of stale. after the 3rd to me it's getting kind of redundant. Im not much into racing sim's as much as other people are I guess, but To me it seem's that many people think Sony's whole future hangs on just one game. and it has been like this since the system launched.
its about the long haul not the short term.
Why is patience a virtue?
Patience is a virtue because it makes us better people. The definition of the word is to tolerate delay. This implies self control and forbearance as opposed to wanting what we want when we want it. How many times have we jumped the gun and found out it would have been better to tolerate delay or had self control? What did we miss out on? Did we hurt someone we love because of lack of patience? Having patience will heal the wounds and it will work itself out fine. Patience is not only a virtue but a necessity for a happy existence.

No its not about one game or patience... To me it is a pattern of Sony milking a loyal fan base.
And it is about the fact that I have spent $3,000 on three PS3 consoles/games and the entertainment value I see returned from them. I very much enjoyed Uncharted, MGS4, and the first Ratchet & Clank are the only three must have games on the PS3...
Killzone 2 is absolutely stunning, but at its core it is a run-of-the-mill shooter that I couldn't stand by the time I finished Chapter 1...
GT5P was shipped with the "later this year GT5 ships promise" in 2008... Here we are in late 2009 and still waiting...
I have had two of my PS3's die twice... Once was on warranty, the others I paid $200 each to fix.
The pattern seems to be, announce AAA titles 4 years before they actually ship and keep the fan base thinking next year will be the year. KZ2 and GT5 are the best examples...
Also, it is about milking fanchises... For example, SingStar... We now have SingStar, SingStar V2, SingStar Abba, SingStar Queen for PS3... We have yet to see wireless mics and neither SingStar Abba or Queen do anything different other then offer more songs... In fact, they don't even offer new trophies... And Ratchet & Clank... We are now seeing the same game 3 consecutive years... And they tried milking Motorstorm by doing it two years consecutively with next to no change. And now Buzz! is coming out again this year with probably next to nothing new...
And how about the hype of Lair? Haze? AAA Crap...
PSN games tend to play more like tech demos then real games... aka Flower...
And instead of shipping GoW3 promised last year, it got moved to 2009, and now 2010, so to further milk the loyal fanbase they are re-releasing "The GoW Collection" with updated graphics...
Home was promised as the next great thing... It has improved but really what it is trying to do is get you to buy more stuff online.
And don't even talk to me about Socom Confrontation... How can a company release such crap? Then, expect the community to wait while you fix it... Meanwhile at the same time they are bragging about quality not quantity and 10 year plans. Speaking of quality lets talk about the first two years on the PSN and how I endured multi-player release after release... You may say "it's free"... Well, it was free and it didn't work well so I guess you get what you pay for... I don't like companies wasting my time and the PSN for the first two years was a complete waste.
And as yet after all that I made yet another good faith consumer gesture and bought a PS3 slim... How F---ing stupid of me...
Sony has had more then ample chance to be my primary console... The reality though is that Sony is going to have a hard time getting any money from me going forward...
