Forums - Gaming Discussion - Shenmue 3 is now a possibility.

Why would SEGA release games for the company that destroyed them?

There is no possibility for Shenmue 3 to come,as Yu Suzuki has already retired.So...

I played both on the dreamcast and liked them a lot. I'll definitely buy them on the psn.

CPU: Ryzen 7950X
GPU: MSI 4090 SUPRIM X 24G
Motherboard: MSI MEG X670E GODLIKE
RAM: CORSAIR DOMINATOR PLATINUM 32GB DDR5
SSD: Kingston FURY Renegade 4TB
Gaming Console: PLAYSTATION 5

I am 90% sure shenmue 1 (at least) is getting released on the psn. Time will tell if it is just the Japanese store though. I mean, things seem to be going this way.

And that's the only thing I need is *this*. I don't need this or this. Just this PS4... And this gaming PC. - The PS4 and the Gaming PC and that's all I need... And this Xbox 360. - The PS4, the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360, and that's all I need... And these PS3's. - The PS4, and these PS3's, and the Gaming PC, and the Xbox 360... And this Nintendo DS. - The PS4, this Xbox 360, and the Gaming PC, and the PS3's, and that's all *I* need. And that's *all* I need too. I don't need one other thing, not one... I need this. - The Gaming PC and PS4, and Xbox 360, and thePS3's . Well what are you looking at? What do you think I'm some kind of a jerk or something! - And this. That's all I need.

Obligatory dick measuring Gaming Laptop Specs: Sager NP8270-GTX: 17.3" FULL HD (1920X1080) LED Matte LC, nVIDIA GeForce GTX 780M, Intel Core i7-4700MQ, 16GB (2x8GB) DDR3, 750GB SATA II 3GB/s 7,200 RPM Hard Drive

Go SEGA, release Shenmue 3 already. Shenmue leave me hanging and I want more. Shenmue is the best game I played on DC and the reason I bought a Dreamcast and also if it ever happens why a PSN release? If they can just release it one blu-ray disc just like the God of war collection. This will generate more hype than a PSN release IMO.

Even if they do re-release Shenmue I and II for download, I doubt it'll drum up new interest in the franchise. Whip out your Dreamcast and try to play it. It's aged horrendously since it came out nearly a decade ago. It was incredibly innovative at the time and was one of the first games to give you a sense of a living breathing virtual world, but games like GTA and Assassin's Creed take that concept so far that Shenmue seems archaic at best.

I love Shenmue; it's in my top 5 all time. But there's no way #3 sees the light of day.

My Top 5:

Shadow of the Colossus, Metal Gear Solid 3, Shenmue, Skies of Arcadia, Chrono Trigger

My 2 nex-gen systems: PS3 and Wii

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

This made me cry. Enough with the teasing of Shenmue III, it's just too much!!!! *cries in corner*

He is still at sega.

If you are going by that moron former SOA president Simon he never knew jack shit what NOJ was doing and said he didn't know Yu was still employed with sega.

Yu has just taken a more quiet role there, what has happened to him is he is being treated like Milton in office space ot Gunpie Yokio(sp?) after the failure of Virtual Boy..they put him in the corner and do almost nothing..just GY got smart and quit Nintendo.

Yu just doesn't have it in him to quit and start his own company.

As for Shenmue. My fave games ever. My god I love this series.

I have given up on the 3rd ever coming,it was an over ambitous series that failed but we still got 2 great games that even to this day did so many things that even modern games don't  take this much care and detailed.

Maybe it's time I hop on the bandwagon.

I played both when I was hell of a lot younger so I didn't really understand them that much but I really enjoyed them. Maybe it's time for me to play them again. Shenmue 3... I don't think it's probable, but you never know =)
