Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Is Silent Hill: Shattered Memories looking better than SH: Homecoming?

When I saw Homecoming I saw some weak textures but with SM I see a good-looking game for wii and even better than Homecoming, I am not a fancoy and I can totally say that homecoming looks better than Shattered Memories if you prove it

I tend to notice details a lot more than a lot of apparent graphics whores (like those that claim Wii games have N64 textures when it's obvious those textures are on large objects while the N64 would do those textures for smaller objects). So for me art direction is just as important for a game looking good.

Therefore this game sure as hell could look better. Especially since Homecoming got some criticism for looking generic.

A flashy-first game is awesome when it comes out. A great-first game is awesome forever.

Plus, just for the hell of it: Kelly Brook at the 2008 BAFTAs

Shouldn't you give us proof for why Shattered Memories looks better?
One big difference is Shattered Memories has jaggies, and lots of them.

The pic with the cleavage wins.

Eh, they both look good. Im not too sure but you could have at least chosen better screens ^

The Shattered Memories screen isn't 850x480. It's smaller. It could have been cropped, or it could have been poorly shrunk. Until we know, I can't take that screen at face value.

Also, the stuffed bunny in the Homecoming pic has wierd lighting. Plush material should not reflect light like that. I could understand not having "plus shading" on even the HD systems yet, but it looks like it's made of ceramic in the picture.

Homecoming is not a good looking game IMO but is looking better than Shattered memories

Homecoming (PS3)

Im right now playing Silent Hill 2 for the first time. Its good.......

If Shattered Memories has half the atmosphere of SH2 i won't give 2 flying monkey f---ks about graphics.

“When we make some new announcement and if there is no positive initial reaction from the market, I try to think of it as a good sign because that can be interpreted as people reacting to something groundbreaking. ...if the employees were always minding themselves to do whatever the market is requiring at any moment, and if they were always focusing on something we can sell right now for the short term, it would be very limiting. We are trying to think outside the box.” - Satoru Iwata - This is why corporate multinationals will never truly understand, or risk doing, what Nintendo does.

Also jaggies is a weak excuse when u consider the percentage of people who play HD systems on SD Tv's anyway. Your not getting the best graphics because you don't have the resolution to begin with.

Shattered Memories looks good. For a Wii game.
