Nice episode. I figured the whole "institutionalized" theme would last the season, though. Glad to see things are heading back to the hospital.

Yeh I figured the same, all those trailers was just from the first episode. It's definitely going to be interesting.

@Twesterm, It is odd to see house some what "happy", so hopefully this doesn't change everything he was in all the other seasons.

It was pretty good. I imagine they had to do the two-hour thing to wrap up the nuthouse story, because if they didn't, and just stopped it one hour in, people would think the whole season would be like that. Then a bunch of idiots would be afraid of the change and stop watching.

I still laugh everytime someone mentions Foreman's first name.

It should be so well constructed that you can tell at a glance what your goal is and, even if you don’t succeed, you’ll blame yourself rather than the game. Moreover, the people standing around watching the game have also got to be able to enjoy it." - Shiggy

ok, I missed the last 2 episodes from last season, but watched this one (missed the first 5 minutes) can someone tell my why he went to the crazy house?

Are they still concentrating on dramatic plot over witty dialogue and House's character?

If so I'm not watching it. Not a fan of dramas in general, only liked house because he could be so hilariously cruel and blunt.

i like it

I really suggest you Hulu or something the last two episodes instead of reading this and *really* spoiling it, but--

House realizes he is hallucinating by seeing Amber and is a little worried because Amber tried to make him kill Chase.  He confides in Wilson (though doesn't tell him it's Amber right away and instead says Cutner).  Because of this, House uses Wilson to keep him from making too crazy diagnosis' and treatments.  Wilson also helps House narrow down everything that could cause him to hallucinate and eventually narrow it down to Vicadin or being crazy.

Since he doesn't want it to be Vicadin, he makes himself go into a coma shock and that seems to fix the problem.  House is happy and solves the case.  While celebrating alone with a burger and fries he realizes he only stumbled onto the solution and then there's an incredibly creepy scene with Amber singing (seen here) as he realizes he isn't cured.

From there, he tries to quit and insults Cuddy in a pretty major way and then tells her what's going on.  Cuddy goes home with him to help him detox and they spend all night together as House goes through Hell.  They eventually make it through the night and House wakes up good and kisses Cuddy and then they have sex.  He wakes up afterwards with her already gone and finds her lipstick left behind and her lipstick on his cheek.  He takes the lipstick and goes on his merry way to work.

At work everyone is surprised by his good mood as he twirls the lipstick around and starts trying to provoke Cuddy to see what she really thinks of him because she's hiding her true feelings.  Meanwhile, he solves another case.

Nothing is working so House finally goes to the lobby, gets everyones attention and yells at the top of his lungs that he and Cuddy has sex.  This sends Cuddy off the deep end and fires House.  House follows Cuddy into her office after realizing something about his case and confronts Cuddy about the night before.

Cuddy mentions the horrible thing that House said and that confuses House.  He starts going in flashback mode and realizes that Cuddy never went home with him and he imagined it all since he never actually told Cuddy what he was going through.  Furthermore, the lipstick he was holding all day was a Vicadin bottle and everyone looked at him funny because he was back on Vicadin and throwing it in everyone's face.

This causes him to finally admit himself to the mental institution so he can detox himself.

Had to edit the youTube link since I guess you can see that without highlighting the text >_>

Man, that scene I linked to still creeps me out a little.  The wife hates Amber and hated that she came back even more but I thought she was kind of awesome and that was one of the better moments of the series I thought.  I really liked both of those episodes.

I'm still on season one ep21.

[Just started watching the show around a week and a half ago. Awesome so far]

4 ≈ One

It's still going? O.o

Damn I stopped watching ages ago.

thanks twesterm. I'll probably go back and watch those two eventually, but I've been putting them off for so long I didn't really care about spoilers. But now at least I know why he was there in the first place.

Also, I'm moving soon so I'll probably be pulling the wires that go from my PC to my home theater setup and there is no way the wife and I would watch it on the PC.
