How about a little modesty? lol
Well so this confirms with a 2 yr dev. window 2011 for the Wii2 i guess.

Not really he doesn't say Wii 2 or another next generation Nintendo console is coming, just that it will come at some point, but 2011 is too early, 2012 is the earliest it'll come, and only if Sony and MS are planning to release new consoles as well, Nintendo hasn't launched first since the NES gen

Predictions:Sales of Wii Fit will surpass the combined sales of the Grand Theft Auto franchiseLifetime sales of Wii will surpass the combined sales of the entire Playstation family of consoles by 12/31/2015 Wii hardware sales will surpass the total hardware sales of the PS2 by 12/31/2010 Wii will have 50% marketshare or more by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  It was a little over 48% only)Wii will surpass 45 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2008 (I was wrong!!  Nintendo Financials showed it fell slightly short of 45 million shipped by end of 2008)Wii will surpass 80 Million in lifetime sales by the end of 2009 (I was wrong!! Wii didn't even get to 70 Million)

And here we go - Ign - From the Fin. Times (for serious businez)

Square-Enix Head Says Wii 2 in 2011
The CEO of the company that makes Final Fantasy believes Nintendo's next console will be more like 360 and PS3.
by Matt Casamassina

US, September 21, 2009 - According to a report by the Financial Times, Square-Enix president Yoichi Wada believes that the successor to Nintendo's incredibly popular Wii videogame console will arrive in 2011. The Times is vague on details with regard to Wii 2, but paraphrases Wada as saying it should debut with "functionality more like that of Microsoft's Xbox 360 or Sony's PlayStation 3, and possibly a different controller."

If Wada is referring to more powerful hardware and the ability to output high-definition graphics, he's right. In a June 2009 interview with Venture Beat, Nintendo president Satoru Iwata confirmed that the successor to Wii would embrace the new HD age. "If we have an opportunity to make a new console, it will probably support HD because it is now common throughout the world."

Nintendo's Wii system debuted in November of 2006, which means that a 2011 release for Wii 2 would allow the console a traditional five-year life cycle. Sony's leaders have stated that they believe PlayStation 3 will enjoy a much longer life cycle. Could the same happen for Wii, which continues to outsell its competitors on a monthly basis? That all depends on whether or not Wii can continue to support innovative ideas that sell.

"As we continue our research and study for new hardware, when we will be able to launch a new kind of hardware will actually depend on when we can change entertainment completely, and so have a strong impact on people around the world," Iwata said during a financial briefing two years ago "Or, there will certainly be a time when we have to say that we have done everything possible with the current machine, that we can never propose anything new."

Wada is speculating for S-E investors, investors who probably want more Wii games, Nintendo won't launch first next gen, they haven't since the NES, in addition the earliest they can announce it is E3 2011, so that will mean late 2012 at the earliest for a launch

does it rlly matter? no more heroes is horrible

Get out!! :P

Anyway, good to hear, though I had kinda thought that was what he meant originally

This is what I thought the original translation said anyway... and said as much.

People were just going on about it being on another current gen system because people are silly fanboys.

As for the news.  Well good the series isn't dieing.  Can't really say much beyond that until I see the next gen consoles, since i tend to just buy them in order of perceived awesomeness and not based on any sort of brand loyalty.

Funniest thing about the interview though is that the design team kept making 2D games even after Suda told them not to, to the point that it hurt the development schedule.

So, what will he be doing if the Wii doesn't come out for a few years....

"We'll toss the dice however they fall,
And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

first S-E 2011 prediction of new nintendo console in 2011 and now this from Suda51.

It may appear like Nintendo is working closely with 3rd party developers so they can have an awesome launch. It will be interesting times.

Make a differnet game?

Suda 51 is full of ideas.

That's what i like about him.  He's always got new ideas, and he loves trying new stuff.  It's why he's one of my favorite developers.

He's got the same idea about game design as me... but he actually has talent and the ability to put his ideas to action.

I mean have you played Killer 7?  What other game plays like that?

What I'm more saddened and shocked to hear is that NMH2 is the conclusion of Travis Touchdown's story. He's one of the most bad ass characters to come along this generation, and I'm a bit sad he will only get to star in two games. Oh well, in Suda I will trust.

In my opinion, Travis is the greatest videogame character ever created, and No More Heroes is the best game this generation. It's a masterpiece.
