Forums - Gaming Discussion - PlayStation Home and Porn: They won't stop you

How will Sony prevent those under 18 from going and checking out porn at someone's Home crib if this is true? If there's a way to make sure that anyone viewing such content is at least 18 that would be fine, but I'm not sure how they'd do that. Then again the internet has that problem as a whole, but I gaurentee Sony's Home will be singled out. And Sony is in a funny position as they have made it harder for porn companies to make their hardcore movies for Blue Ray.

Totally agree. They are going to be accused very quickly of allowing porn to get into the hands of minors through their system, and even worse for enabling pedophiles to contact children and then show them porn using Playstation Home. Even without "those" animations, they are walking a tightrope and it's only a matter of time before they take a fall...they'd better hope it's "just" Thompson!

Now sony might be sued, but I would think that it would be pretty hard to show that they were in fact responsible for what some schlub tried to download. Sorry, I just can't see this wrongfully sticking to sony or any other game network.

The legalities aren't the problem, the blow to public perception is. Remember "hot coffee"?

"Why do they call it the xbox 360? Because when you see it, you'll turn 360 degrees and walk away"

Exactly. The "hot coffee" thing was blown way out of proportion, and it has stuck that game with a worse image than it already had for its violence...if the public feels like messing with a console, they can.

Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )
