What is up with the Xbox360 controlers?  they are *TERRIBLE*.  They are a little on the big side.. i can live with that.. but their "D-Pad", well, it is UNUSABLE.  And the stick? very inaccurate!  When playing pac man CE the controler is the reason i die at last 70% of the time.  Maybe it takes getting used to, but holy crap it's really quite inaccurate compared to both the ps3 controler and the gamecube controlers (and the classic controlers for the wii).

Does anyone know of a GOOD 3rd party controler for the xbox360?  I picked up one of those Street Fighter IV controlers, but it isn't much better (at least for the game at had, Pac Man CE, it is worse).

360 controller is one of the best ever made.
The only thing that could be better is the D-Pad. Anything else is top-notch

The D-pad would probably fix this, but that's assuming the d-pad was any good.  IT IS NOT.

The analog sticks are as accurate as any other you can find. There is no difference at all on any console.

I've got Pacman C.E. and I don't find the 360 pad "wholly inaccurate" for that game or any other. Maybe your hands are shaped like lobster claws after too many years of clutching Dual Shocks. The 360 controller's d-pad isn't much good though, I'd agree with you there.

360 controllers are the best. And your hands must be small, I like the size of the duke controller the best.

i have not had bad experiences with the 360 controller. its been as reliable to me as any other.

have you tried another controller. it might just be yours if you havent. if you have and all of them are like then i dont know what to tell you. the last controller i though was horrible was the superpad for the n64.

360 controller is best controller for next gen games. period.

However it sucks balls for 2d remakes and xbox live stuff. Dpad blows and analog stick can have delay...

Best solution for this is to get one of thoe SF4 pads and use them only for xbox live stuff.

I myself am using a sega saturn pad on my xbox 360...which is known to be the ebst 2D controller ever made. However the SF4 pad is ok too...
