What I want to know is where the hell was the bus driver in this? He/she should've at least tried to stop the scuffle.

From the article interviewing a witness "The bus driver kept driving and just told people to sit down"
Bus driver should be fired imo. In a situation like this the bus driver is taking custody of the children and are their responsibility. When something like this happens you should pull over, get over the radio "I'm at blah blah and need assistance on the bus." and then control the children.
Absolutely. Maybe there is some prior history to this happening and the video doesn't tell it all, but even if it was totally provoked, bus driver should have been there trying to stop it.
Too bad so many bullied kids are passive aggressive, because if I was in his situation, no matter how badly I knew I would be beaten afterwards, I would have beaten that little fucker down as best I could. I'm not a strong guy by any means, but I sure as hell wouldn't let my right to self defence go to waste if some little prick started punching me for sitting next to him on a bus.

I don't believe there should be such a law as "hate crimes". It makes no sense. giving someone special treatment because of the color of there skin or sexual orientation. Everybody should be treated as equal. If you beat someone up, you should get charged with assault no matter what color skin they have. But some people will always fall back on "he hit me cause i am a homosexual" "he hit me cause i am black", just so they can make the punishment more. Its not right. |
Xxain - What... is beating someone down because they are black worse than beating someone down because you don't like the look they gave you? Or what type of music they listen to and clothes they wear? Its the same shit no matter the intentions. Both equally wrong and both should have equal pushiments

I dont agree with this...Hate crimes one most violent crimes around and should treated with a appropriate punishment...choosing to harm somebody because af race religion W/e is a stomach turning event...ur right we should be treated equally but if there are in the world for a unequal reason they need to have a punishment |
So if a white guy shoots another white guy in the head for laughing at his tie, it's a less malicious crime than if a white guy shoots a black guy in the head because he's black? I can't say I agree.

man the law is so fucked up. If a gay guy gets beat up its a hate crime. If a black guy gets beat up by a white guy its a hate crime. This is the first time I've actually heard of it being racially motivated when it was a white guy getting beat up and I think it's just as stupid now as it was when heard about the other "hate crimes" involving people of other races. Even if the one commiting the crime isn't racist or homophobic they can still get charged with a hate crime... it's stupid. |
Welcome to the wonderful world of hate crimes legislation. It seeks to empower certain groups of people into an elite status.
This is why it's retarded. It perverts the law into a tiered structure showing favoritisms. That's kind of against the fairness of law, no? Everyone is a minority in some way, but we should all get the same judicial treatment. Murder is murder. Punches are punches. It doesn't matter who threw them for why, but the fact that it happened should be the only thing measure of how the law should be applied.
Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

Is really justice? I mean, these kids are just going to go home and do whatever they want in those 10 days.
They obviously don't care much about school to do something so stupid, and their parents are likely not enforcing rules due to the fact that this even happened!
