Its true. But they have not been working on it from start to finish. Theyve been on and off to work on 5 and HD concept and other stuff and the guy regrets doing that.
I just cant believe no one knew there wasnt a career mode or unlockables for this long.
I agree that this clearly wasnt a focus for the PD team.....but just adding career and unlockables would make this game an 8.5 at least based on the reviews im seeing.
I think I have an idea of what might have happened. Remember sonys focus on the "Pick up and play" part of the psp these times ? perhaps polyphony figured a career mode was unnesesarry concidering that it's something you're likely to play for a 15-20 mins at a time..
I too think it was a very .. bad decision though.
Is there a single person who is surprised that Gran Turismo does not translate very well into handheld? I know I'm not.
I think its SONY's fault for rushing the game.....
polyphony needed more time, SONY rushed them

Imagine the meltdown if GT 5 gets the same treatment from the media and similar reviews (it wont). But at the moment GT PSP looks like a huge kick in the nuts for those who were looking to play this portable, they instead getting a very rushed product, real shame.

Lol, probably has. But im wagering its been on and off with all the other releases Polyphony have had.
Coupled with it releasing aside PSPgo, i guess it was a rushed finish for the game.
Maybe people were expecting too much with it being a Gran Turismo game? Maybe UMD has held it back?
Could be several excuses
There's no excuse for the lack of career mode, even PSOne games had that.
