doesn't sound like a bad deal at all.

RLOD and YLOD they both have problems the differene for me is the guarantee, the 360 get's you 3 years guarantee for that but the PS3 only 1 year and costs £125 if it goes wrong..

You should get it! Great deal as if memory serves the games offered include Killzone 2, inFamous and Assassin's Creed! No brainer really

So far, it looks like the YLoD is really only a problem for the earliest models - 60GB or 20GB systems. While the 80GB systems can YLoD, it's been rare. It'll be another year or so before you can be sure about that, though; it takes quite some time for most YLoDs to happen. Keep in mind that the PS3 will never be "immune" to the YLoD. All electronic equipment can fail, and the YLoD is simply a general error code to let you if that happens.

In any case, that deal sounds too good to pass up. If you're at all interested in the PS3, I'd go for it.

Rockstar: Announce Bully 2 already and make gamers proud!

Kojima: Come out with Project S already!

Arggh

Cannot decide..The Slim was displayed in another shop and although you get no games I cant help but thinking in a couple of months the Xmas bundles will be in shops.

The new slim and price point are an excellent move by Sony as before I would never have considered a PS3 now I'm in a flat spin.

Think I'm going to sell a load of my 360 back catalogue to raise much needed funds and start hunting for Slim bundles. They must be out there.

The first urge to buy a PS3

I know that its probably only because my beloved 360 E74'd after 2 and a bit years of great gaming.

But last night in Tesco they were selling a fat 80GB PS3 for 249 GBP with any 3 games and 2 Blurays.

It seemed a good deal but I'm concerned about YLOD on the older machines.

It does seem to be restricted to the launch machines only. Maybe the 80GB's are immune.

Asda are doing the 80Gb Phat's themselves for £200 although I don't think you get any games with that.

Also, I have a 60Gb BC launch machine and have had it from December 2007 and had no problems at all with it so far!

Prediction (June 12th 2017)

Permanent pricedrop for both PS4 Slim and PS4 Pro in October.

PS4 Slim $249 (October 2017)

PS4 Pro $349 (October 2017)

why do you like slim so much? they are basically the same. slim may be quieter but there hasn't been any indications that it's more reliable than 80G or anything. but if you need bigger HDDs then slim bundles are good choices since they are likely to be 250G(but will cost more).
