@ Onyxmeth or anyone else who wants to jaw about the Pro Bowl: Do you think that Brees is gonna make Pro Bowl on the NFC side of the ball? Because if he doesn't I'm going to be very disappointed...

Personally I would have him as an alternate, behind 1. Favre and 2. Rodgers. However, regardless of his numerous errors, there's a certain something about Brees that the voting population loves. He's got a great ability to hit very narrow holes in coverage to get the ball to his receivers, and his team is playing damn good football, which adds to his value. He will definitely make the Pro Bowl for the NFC, likely with Favre.

However, now thinking about it, I forgot that the Pro Bowl is being played a week before the Super Bowl this year, not after it. That means if the Saints go to the Super Bowl, none of them will play in the Pro Bowl.

Oh my god Sqrl! Does this mean you don't have faith in your Vikings making the Super Bowl this year?!

I'm really dissapointed that the NFL removed revenue sharing and the salary cap. Now we are going to have another Yankees that spends there way to the playoffs every year (I'm thinking Cowboys and Patriots). For those of you not familar with baseball, the Yankees spent $200 million on salary last year and the Florida Marlins spent $20 million. Why would you even watch the first game if you are a Marlins fan?

Oh well, college football is more interesting anyway.

It's temporary. They just need to work on a new agreement.

Anyways, I can't believe you wouldn't be as equally disappointed in college football. Between yet another year with them defending the lack of playoff structure, and the travesty of having Boise St. and TCU face each other again instead of actually being able to finally prove themselves by playing Florida and Cincinnati just so the BCS doesn't have to make those major changes. All this does is give the two teams another year of everyone doubting whether they are legit or not. Not to mention this season is going to finish with 2-3 undefeated teams. The BCS national championship and the bowl games are a joke.

^^Couldn't agree more . The BCS needs a playoff system. I think TCU can give Alabama a good game. Texas looks like they are gonna be dominated the way they played Nebraska. But shit we'll never know who's the best team in the BCS.

Man a lot of upsets this week Oak might have killed Steelers playoff hope...Cards put a clear ass whooping on the Vikes they had no answer on top that they lose a great defensive player for the season ouch. Saints sneaked by again. Pats lose back to back games hasn't won a road game yet ...in the usa.

I agree that the BCS needs a playoff, but even so a team's success is based on coaching, recruting, and skill. Thats not the case for MLB, where the Yankees spend $200 million a year on salary and the Florida Marlins spend $20 million. Even if the Yankees draft the wrong players and do a horrible job coaching, they will still be dominant since they have so much money to throw around.

It's exactly the same. The NCAA football schools that spend the most on their programs tend to have the best teams. Funny how that works. You don't find any correlation between the biggest football programs having better teams than those small midwestern schools that can barely muster 5,000 fans? You can't buy the best coach without good money, and you can't get the best recruits when there are bigger and better schools willing to give them everything you are (and more) but in a better atmosphere. College football is far more lopsided in the talent pool than the MLB, and that's why you see so many blowout games with 30+ differentials.

I agree the NFL needs to get the salary cap back, but it'll survive a year without falling apart in an uncapped season. Remember the salary cap wasn't implemented until 1994, and before that we still had great competitive football.

I didn't know about the salary cap coming in before 1994, but I'm pretty sure revenue sharing goes back farther than that.

There are probably a thousand college football teams, and obviously Idaho State cant compete with a SEC school like Florida, but still schools are competitive relative to their size and division.

Revenue sharing is what's holding up the deal in the first place, so obviously it'll be worked out. It's not easy to come to new agreements on that.

Regarding the schools, that's just not true. There's a huge difference in the talent pool even within the same division. Obviously I was talking about the same division in football(Division I FBS), since I mentioned blowouts. Teams from different divisions don't face each other.

Yes they do.

Best upset in history

Back from the dead, I'm afraid.

I may not be able to see the sheet before Thursday's game, so I'm going to go ahead and go out on a limb here and say Steelers win over Browns.
