Yeah, I really like this game. I though motorstorm looked nice though, haven't played it yet. My only friend with a ps3 is going to rent it to see if he should buy it. I will have to check it out then. Hey, in excite truck, if you play the single player and open up the options do you get more tracks for multiplayer?

Im loving ExciteTruck too - (as previously stated) the speed reminds me more of Extreme-G / Wipeout than a off-street racer. Its insanely fast (and a lot of fun). A mix between ExciteTruck & MotorStorm would be sweet!!

I don't know, but after playing the "pegasus" level in God of War II, I have no need to play Lair...especially with the chance that Factor 5 will screw it up like Rebel Strike.

LEFT4DEAD411.COM
Bet with disolitude: Left4Dead will have a higher Metacritic rating than Project Origin, 3 months after the second game's release.  (hasn't been 3 months but it looks like I won :-p )

this thread has gone totally off topic... Well, on topic... Besides grass, the game is 100% interactive with the mud, and that's the most amazing thing about the game, so i wouldn't worry about grass.

The PS3 has plenty of processing power to do any of the things mentioned in this thread so far, and so does the 360 for that matter. It is very interesting how people so easly forget the past when looking at the future. Every console since the PSOne has gottin significantly better over it lifetime. I know it has been said millions of times, but for some reason it is not getting through to people. Look at Ridge Racer on PSone then look at GT2 the improvment is rediculose. On the gamecube check the leap from launch to resident evil 4, if we had seen a tech demo of that in 2000 it would have been said to be immposible. Guys this gen is in its infancy and everyone has set the bar way to high at this point in time, your expectations will be met and exeeded, it will just take time. The PS3 will do amazing things with graphics this gen, but we can't expect it from day one. The devs need time to work with the hardware and truely understand how it works. Playstation has always been this way and it is on purpose.

Sure, it does. I would consider 30 fps the minumum for any racing game, as everything less than 24 fps should feel quite choppy. For a really fast game though you need more fps, but obviously they could not deliver more without compromising the graphics. Considering that Excite truck is pushing out double the framerate of Motorstorm it still does look quite nice, doesn't it

Well, I have played MotorStorm now (a few min ago). Sorry, Im so *not* impressed. It might be a "realistic" sim style game - but it simply isn't any fun. The speed is way too slow (the game I was playing anyway) - in fact, it feels like "I was driving through mud" (funny that). The graphics are generally nice - but where are the huge mud sprays? I was expecting MUD all the over the place? Even in 1st-person mode there wasn't that much? It feels to me like a "typical" Sony product - too much sim, not enough fun. Im so not interested - and I consider ExciteTruck to be a vastly superior "game". Sony - you had your chance to convince me - and the collective comment (from the guys here at work) seems to be "meh".

I give up.

graphics needs to complement gameplay, not the other way around. that's why PS3's selling point is fundamentally flawed. spending all the resources on the auxiliaries is not the way to go.

the Wii is an epidemic.
