It would be so brilliant. Release one of th emost notable exclusive franchises at the perfect time where slim sales will settle WW and keep the fire going through the holidays. Even if it comes out in October WW it will be absolutely brilliant.
Hmmm more like the Sony insider said that a 2009 GT5 release date would be announced at TGS on 25 Sept. Which then got Chinese whispered into GT5 release date 25 Sept 2009.
Release date announced 25 Sept, marketing swings into high gear 2-3 weeks before release date (whether that's 25 Sept or some time after that who knows).

I'm surprised no one's mentioned that GT5 would completely kill all sales of GT PSP, which is due to release a week after this rumored release date.

Prediction Aug '08: We see the PSP2 released fall '09. Graphically, it's basically the same as the current system. UMD drive ditched and replaced by 4-8gb on board flash memory. Other upgrades: 2nd analog nub, touchscreen, blutooth, motion sensor. Design: Flip-style or slider. Size: Think Iphone. Cost: $199. Will be profitable on day 1.

I think they will announce it at TGS for this year, I know it's hard to believe but probablly Nov. They have all the right moves at the moment. SONY is heavly geared for releases in 1st quater 2010 already. Plus, it would be a bombshell and will keep the Slim's momentum flying till FF13 hits Japan, not to mention taking away Forza 3's attention. Killer move and would work in this case to keep it secret till TGS.

I call BS to this. Kaz already stated that GT5 will release shortly after GT PSP and GT PSP is in Oct so dont expect GT5 until late Nov early December.
