nintendo should release both the GC and Wii FE games in a bundle so i could get into the series, shame on them for not encouraging the customer to try their games.

I don't really understand what you're talking about.

You do realize you can play Radiant Dawn with no knowledge of Path of Radiance and enjoy it quite a lot right?

but i've read that it's a sequel to that game, with the same characters, why wouldn't i want to try them both.

There's no reason not to play them both as they're fantastic games, but that's not what your first post is talking about.  You're saying shame on Nintendo for not bundling the two games together when one is (I believe) a 4 year old out of print Gamecube title and the other is a semi-recent Wii title.  Expecting a bundle of those two is unreasonable unless it's done Metroid Prime Trilogy style where it's all on a Wii disc.

I only played PoR , Shadow Dragon and Radiant Dawn but i can easily say that FE is at the moment my second favourite Nintendo Franchise (next to Zelda).

I wish i could find those old FE Somwhere.

Radiant Dawn is my favorite Fire Emblem because there are so many characters to use and so much EXP to collect. Almost got 1,600 level ups on a single playthrough.

EDIT: I also like that most characters usually max out several of their stats, unlike in prevoius FEs when it used to be one or two.

This from the man that complains that JRPG's have too many playable characters and that 3 characters in the same party at the same time is more useful.

In reference to your favorite PS2 JRPG thread.

JRPGs with more characters than the size of the actual party can hold, are usually filled with useless characters you'll never use unless you must for storyline purposes. That's why I prefer JRPGs with less characters.

Radiant Dawn has the biggest cast of any FE, but surprisingly it has also the lowest number of useless characters. Well okay, most of the Laguz aren't good, but since I am not a fan of those characters, it never bothered me that they are rather useless. Also, JRPGs and SRPGs are different, so what I like about one genre isn't necessarily the case for the other genre.

Non-Royal laguz were kind of useless in that game, but the number of royals against non-royals was basically even, and you had a lot of access to them. (also the wolf, Nailah's associate, who's name eludes me atm, he acted like a royal even if he wasn't).

No, they weren't useless. They come in hilariously overleveled, so if you don't BEXP the weak Beorc, you can BEXP the herons. A level 30 heron fills the gauge, and keeps 2-3 Laguz active in a battle. Considering you'll hardly ever access more than that, that's enough.

If you don't feel like that, you can use an entire 8pack of Olivigrass a map, and still use less money than a Beorc. They're not useless at all, except that a few are in the endgame.

And Volug had a skill that made his stats multiply by 1.5, rather than 2, but always enable him to halfshift. He didn't act as a Royal.

The Wii can read Gamecube discs. Simply buy Path of Radiance. I played FE10 first, and found it to be one of my top 10 games ever, yet knowing nothing about Fire Emblem.

I understand that he was weaker in his changed form, but the point is that he could stay that way, and was still much more powerful than most members of the Dawn Brigade at the time. Later in the game that put him at a disadvantage, but for his time to shine, he was like a royal in that respect. As long as you didn't pitch him against a fire mage, he was more or less unstoppable.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

Will we ever see another General as dominating as Oswin? I propose that we will not.

i dont like Laguz, they make for a good racist history line, but as units i think mamkutes are the best, they might be a bit overpowered, but they are somehow cooler, and you can always be sure they are good units

PD: Fazilla ftw!

Here's what was wrong with what you said, Woopah.

1. IR functionality for controls. a buttong for selecting character, b button for selecting task.

Why? There's really no need for this. The old controls worked perfectly, and I'd rather not have to point my remote at the screen all the time.

2. Build on the foundation of radiant dawn with a really deep weapon/armour creation system with a market place where weapons can be bought and sold online

I just don't see the point. Making and selling armour? It has nothing to do with Fire Emblem - heck, there isn't even armour in the game, as it is now. To add it in, they would have to revoke the entire system of attack/defence

3. map creator, co op and maybe even character creation.

Map creator is okay, but Co-op would just take too long for it to really work. Character creation is silly, quite simply.

4. if they wanted to go even further they could have you choose where your armies move, and use motion+ guestures in battle to decide on damage (a la paper mario TTYD)

I think you see how retarded that is yourself.

1. IR would make it a lot quicker, like how they use the touchscreen in adacance wars on DS#

2. ok, maybe not armour, but radiant dawn allowed you to forge you own weaponary. if they made the weapon forging system deeper,  people could make some really awesome weaponary, maybe make a bow that trades power for a larger reach and greater accuracy

3.  why not character creatation? it could be something you could only use outside the main story line. give them a name, class, stats, weapon and skills and jed be useable in a regular battle.

=really im just trying to think of things to make FE a more robust package. so not only have the huge single player campaign but also have  these other options ( aqs long as they dont detract from the single player of coursre. after all advance wars  has always had extra modes as well so why not  fire emblem?

nintendo fanboy, but the good kind

proud soldier of nintopia

I gots one question.

I'm interested more in the story, how many of the games are connected?

Which one should I get if I'm a total SRPG n00b?

I'm not saying I will buy this now, but I'm just curious.

Most of people dont actually use the tactil controls on either Fire Emblem or Advance Wars, character creation and forging dont really enchance the game, what i really want is a solid multiplayer game, like advance wars has
