this thread just reminds me that i still havent finished FE shadow dragon on my ds. i cant even remember what chapter i was on... i think i was on chapter 15.

Shadow Dragon is the worst of the series I've played so far.

Also, I'm still mad we went from this:

to this:

I think Radiant Dawn and Path of Radiance, taken together, are the best Fire Emblem game. But, no questions asked, Hector is the most awesome character. There is no comparison.

The only FE I've played is Radiant Dawn, currently playing it, I'm at the end of part II of the game, it's very challenging, and I'm enjoying, it's my first SRPG.

we need a wii radiant dawn to reboot fire emblem like there trying to reboot metroid.

New setting, new world, new story, new characters, new units, new weapon types. first of a new fire emblem trilogy.

IR functionality for controls. a buttong for selecting character, b button for selecting task. Build on the foundation of radiant dawn with a really deep weapon/armour creation system with a market place where weapons can be bought and sold online. multiple online modes, map creator, co op and maybe even character creation.

if they wanted to go even further they could have you choose where your armies move, and use motion+ guestures in battle to decide on damage (a la paper mario TTYD)

Do you... actually know anything about Fire Emblem?

Woopah, just die that you said is insane...

Fire Emblem 4 is the best Fire Emblem by far, Fire Emblem Por ad RD are close but... i miss the huge maps and Sigurd is just too good to be true

now.. what i want on Fire Embem, enchanced graphics aside from the beautiful CGI, RD almost had GC graphics, they could do so much better, the history can also be better FF like, a new continent of course, im just sick of Ike

Fire Emblem Shadow Dragon is not that bad, i know its a remake with bad graphics, but they perfected pretty much everything else especially the dificulty setting, and compared to the other games its almsot pick up and play thanks to the lack of historyline, which i loved the last games where too focused on reading as much text as you could, especially the supports, common this is not a sim date game!

I always felt that the best part about Fire Emblem was the character development, and the story. That's why FE6-10 are better than FE1-FE5 (and 11).

Of course, I'm somewhat biased, as I played the games backwards. 10, then 8, then 9, then 7, then 6, then 5, then 4, then 11.

The case is, hardly anything is better in the previous games, compared to Radiant Dawn. Well, FE7 may have more likeable characters. Oh, and the choice to focus more on the "info" than the support conversations. I actually like that.

I'm playing Radiant awn for the 4th time now, and my second hard playthrough. It seems that I messed up, and may not be able to finish the endgame. I've been bloody RNG cursed too.

I sort of forgot what reasons apply to whether you're silenced in Part 4: Endgame 1, or not. Is it the tiles?

Radiant Dawn is my favorite Fire Emblem because there are so many characters to use and so much EXP to collect. Almost got 1,600 level ups on a single playthrough.

EDIT: I also like that most characters usually max out several of their stats, unlike in prevoius FEs when it used to be one or two.

This from the man that complains that JRPG's have too many playable characters and that 3 characters in the same party at the same time is more useful.

In reference to your favorite PS2 JRPG thread.

JRPGs with more characters than the size of the actual party can hold, are usually filled with useless characters you'll never use unless you must for storyline purposes. That's why I prefer JRPGs with less characters.

Radiant Dawn has the biggest cast of any FE, but surprisingly it has also the lowest number of useless characters. Well okay, most of the Laguz aren't good, but since I am not a fan of those characters, it never bothered me that they are rather useless. Also, JRPGs and SRPGs are different, so what I like about one genre isn't necessarily the case for the other genre.

Actually, the Laguz are rather great. I just BEXP'd the herons to level 30, so they can fill up the Laguz' transformations gauges. Thus, none of them are useless,, as each Heron can keep a good 3-4 Laguz active at a time.

Additionally, they're completely free to use. You can essentially use an entire (8) Olivigrass a round, and still have them cheaper than using Beorc.

And they start at ridiculously high levels, compared to the Beorc, too.

Edit:

Most of them won't be a lot of help in the endgame, though, due to their low resistance. Still, many units that are great suffer from this too, such as Ike, Tiania and Haar.

Edit 2:
Units such as Fiona and Meg are rather goo too - due to their resistance. In the endgame, Resistance may be even more important than defence.

Give staves that cure status (Recover?) to your casters, and make sure they're equipped. That way, when the Silence goes off, they'll be healed automatically.
