Forums - Sales Discussion - How many of the slim sales were brogh by PS3 Phat owners ?

Looking through a lot of posts on different forums there seems to be a huge amount of Phat PS3 owners who say they have bought the PS3 slim, if that ends up being true will this surly mean Two things

1. That software numbers go up for the first month but after say from month 2 they will drop greatly as those software buyers who already had a PS3 in the first place and changed to a slim are not going to be buying any more software than they were before...........

2. The Slim sales will drop rapidly after the first month for the same reason,  they already had a ps3 so they are not new ps3 owners but are current PS3 owners changing over to the slim....

Miised out the T in brought  in the title can't edit it ?

Well, I can understand that the people who burnt their 599 dollars on the original phat one would very much like to spend another 299 on the slim one.

I LOVE ICELAND!

162 , but two were returned so that makes it 160

in percentage ?

something like 0,01% I guess !

Ask yourself how many Xbox360 owners (or past owners have bought a new Xbox360 after the differents price cut)

that is a good question !

Overall point : most of the sales (PS3 or 360) come from new customers ...

Time to Work !

i got a two new 360 just to replace my broken ones .... i have no need to replace my PS3 . maybe i get one just to play movies

You really shouldn't use the old broken excuse anymore since Jasper the REPAIR CENTRES not some reader(Fanboy) survey say it's a thing of the past in fact it's on this site somewhere on the front page.

And the YLOD I had to replace my PS3 is now also proven to be just as bad again by a REPAIR CENTRE(not a reader survey) here -

System Failure: Why PS3 and 360 drop dead for the same reasons

http://www.eurogamer.net/articles/digitalfoundry-system-failure-article

E.G -

"Talking to the company's engineer, Darren Thickbroom, it instantly became apparent that many of the Internet truths surrounding the console failures were anything but, and that the heat dissipation issues of the Xbox 360 up until the most recent Jasper version were hardly exclusive to the Microsoft console. Slowly but surely, just like its competitor, the issue of PlayStation 3 reliability is being brought into question.

While the scale of the so-called YLOD issue is difficult to judge in context of the all-pervasiveness of RROD, the fact is that what I learned on my visit was pretty shocking: whether you own a Microsoft or Sony console".

Oh and don't forget there is no more "Continuos Play" so if the PS3 breaks down after 1 year YLOD etc you have to pay $150+tax.

http://www.thesixthaxis.com/2009/06/22/sony-pull-continuous-play/

If the 360 breaks down after 1, 2 or even 3 years you pay 0 it's free.......

Link to other repair centre on this site-

"Today, IndustryGamers received new survey data from SquareTrade, which claims to be the largest independent warranty provider in the world.  SquareTrade’s data shows that the introduction of the “Jasper” chipset in late 2008 "has likely solved" the RROD problem."

No mention of solving the YLOD though !!!!

You and I both know thats pretty much a hundred percent wrong, its probably closer to 10 or 20%

I think this thread was made to combat the other worthless threads about 360 would have sold alot less if it weren't for people buying multiple console due to RROD.

But what everybody here needs to understand is a sale is a sale, doesn't matter how it happened.  What if's are pointless because they will never actually change anything.

And this thread is as stupid as the others like it...
