Forums - Microsoft Discussion - Here is why PS3 games have higher accumulated review average than 360 games

I think it has somthing to do with the controller.

I got Drake and Stake for the original XBox and I beat Batman Dark Tomorrow on the original XBox.

It gives you some sort of satisfying feeling when you play and beat some craptastic games.

The only real crappy game I beat on the XBox 360 so far was Alone in the Dark.

This man knows...beaing a crappy game is the shizzle.

Seriously, anyone can beat a game that guides you holding your hand throughout and gives you smooth controls. Try beating something that is hardly playable...like superman 64...only then you can fell badass.

seriously guys, thats why quantity sometimes doesn't matter.
but quality.

Almost all of these are multiplats...and can be found on 360 with equally bad scores.

Yet when we look at 360, there are 10 exclusives in lowest 15 games. http://www.gamerankings.com/browse.html?site=xbox360&cat=0&year=0&numrev=0&sort=1&letter=&search=

And thats not even including this game...lol

Oh theres a insanely glorfying feeling when you beat a crappy game.

Would I suggest buying a crappy game new at full price? Of course not. I usually buy them when they are real cheap say $5 or $6 aka just above rental price then prepare for one of the most hilarious experiences in your life followed by a giant celebration when you beat it.

God, we got four copies in at work. It's gonna suck when I have to ring up someone for the game and they don't realize what they are getting into at $50.

It's just that simple.

Yeah the same thing happened with the original XBox.

We had Drake, Stake, Chicago Enforcer and a whole slew of other crappy "exclusive" games.

Of course the PS3 got the Inferno version of Alone in the Dark. Lucky bastards ;)

haha. In alone in the dark, i got to the point when you had to kill those tree roots in central park and was like...this is enough, i wuss out. Those car sequences were something else...should have been an achievement - made a left turn: 1000 pts

... oh god, you had to remind me of the driving sequences! HORRIBLE! Then I had to go into first person view to drive it for one of the achievements. That was one of the most frustrating experiences in my life.

Burning the roots wasn't too bad. It was just a matter of driving around and avoiding the Humanz or whatever they called them.

But I got my 1000/1000 baby.

I say the only thing good about the game was Jared McCafrey (spelling) was the voice actor of the hero. Max Payne anyone?

I particularly liked the title.

"Raven Squad Review
We played it so you don't have to."

maybe people just make better games for the ps3.

I don't want to get in to the details on how it costs more money to make a PS3 game...and that generally it has lower game sales than 360 due to lower userbase (with exceptions ofcourse)...and that its much more complex to develo for PS3, which is something that devs of shitty games like this cant be bothered with.

So Ill just say...metacritic does not back your statement above.

Disolitude is a very level headed xbox fan =P he brings up a point which I thought everyone knew. With xbox having a larger library I would think it would be harder to get the median score high. Ps3 is hard to develop for and I think even Kaz said they did it on purpose to avoid shovelware (which I admit was Sony spin) but it's true to some degree. Less games overall get made for Ps3 but less bad games in general since they can't risk it.
