I actually have the most problems with my DS, ironically. I never got the RRoD, but my DS lite's hinge broke, the screen wouldn't respond, and my R button was stuck. Maybe I play it too much. (: It is still the best system every though.

My DS has the exact same problem and its only just over a year old.  If it buggers up I'll get a DSi and a R4i (or whatever they're called) and never buy a game for it!

The reliabilty of this gens consoles is atrocious.

It is ironic that the poor design feature of the 360 means you can get it repaired free nearly all the time. Hopefully you can still get it repaired how about you try reasonables solution and goes nuts because you did not think you bought a 360 never know worked for him and he got a free repair.

He literally threw it on the floor?  Some people have actually tried the fix a 2nd or 3rd time and it finally works for them. Maybe you didnt heat up the board long enough?  Sounds like you did somethin cause you were able to eject the disc!! If he didnt literally smash your PS3 I'd try the fix again! It will work! I wouldnt give up yet, you paid over $600 for that thing and now it's junk parts. MAKE IT WORK!!!!!!
